Donald Trump's tallest construction project ever is facing some tall challenges.
Many real-estate developers are under pressure these days as lenders and investors rush to cut their exposure to the market. But Mr. Trump's 92-story Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago, which will be the tallest building constructed in the U.S. since the Sears Tower opened in 1973, may be especially vulnerable because it's getting hit by a triple whammy of colliding forces: the credit crunch, the reversal in the housing market and weak retail sales.
The shiny glass skyscraper is one of the few that the brash Mr. Trump developed without partners. The situation also puts pressure on one of the project's major lenders, Fortress Investment Group LLC.

I like your synopsis, sure looks like Trump is just playing Rodeo Clown for Obama to try and keep him from getting trampled
“I had stated here on FR how I liked what Trump had been saying during his many TV interviews. He has been saying many things I agree with, but I was warned to be watching him closely, and I have been.” ~ seekthetruth
Prudent lady!
See what Soros purportedly said after the election in November of last year: “We have just lost this election, we need to draw a line...and if this president can’t do what we need, it is time to start looking somewhere else.”
It’s very telling to read the comments section of that article in which many Democrats agreed with Soros and suggested that he will probably withdraw his support for Obama in 2012. Some suggested that the 2012 race would be between Trump and Romney. (I’ve copied and pasted the 2010 article and some of the pertinent comments below under * “background”)
That could only happen if Soros —(who made Obama and could break him ‘cause he knows where all the bodies are buried, so to speak)— finds a way to either make Obama take himself out of the running and backs Trump instead, or if Trump runs against Obama on the Democratic ticket with Soros’ backing (behind the scenes).
If Trump throws his hat in the ring as a Republican and doesn’t get the GOP nomination, what if he switches to the Democrat Party in order to get Obhama out of office?
How many conservative Trump fans would there be that get suckered into voting Democrat if that scenerio transpires? I think there would be a LOT of them, based on what I’ve seen so far.
Want to talk about a brilliant — no genius — plan to co-opt the Tea Party Movement and put the ‘RAT Party back into power!
Trump will have the perfect excuse to run as a Democrat, too -(the plan all along?)-because all hell have to say to all those already convinced is, Im the only one who can beat Obama and if the GOP wont have me, Ill just have to do it another way even if I have to run as a Democrat. He can use comments like Roves about him being a joke candidate as justification. I don’t think he’d run as an Independent because of the fact that most Democrats vote a straight Democrat ticket and hed lose too many votes.
People with money and power like Trump and Soros have one goal - you can forget the little guys issues - just FOLLOW THE MONEY which means power. Both of them have a history that no prudent person should ignore.

George Soros Is Almost Ready To Give Up On Obama

George Soros support of President Barack Obama is in doubt and he’s considering looking elsewhere to put his money for the progressive cause, according to The Huffington Post.
Speaking to a select crowd of donors to progressive causes, Soros allegedly said:
We have just lost this election, we need to draw a line...and if this president can’t do what we need, it is time to start looking somewhere else.
A Soros advisor has denied the hedge fund manager has any intention of not supporting President Obama at the next election, however.

Yeah, George Soros is right. President Barack Obama is toast!
The 2012 campaign has officially started and it is going to be interesting! BTW, Donald Trump considers running, so it’s going to be amazing. .....
I wouldn’t be too astonished if George Soros drops Barack Obama and supports Donald Trump in 2012.
I’d rather have Donald Trump than Mitt Romney or God beware Sarah Palin!

NO wonder that George Soros stopped supporting Obama and is looking for another progressive Democrat to support in 2012!

.....I think we might be in for a race between Donald Trump and Mitt Romney:

2012 is going to be a much tougher and more expensive race than 2008!

Yes Mr. Soros it is beginning to appear as though we backed the wrong horse.

Soros sets the progressive agenda. What is he up to? Just giving Obama a kick so he will try to ram the rest of the far left agenda through the senate before he loses power?
Or does he really thing Obama is a gonner in 2012 and it’s time to figure out who will replace him?
It may be that Soros feels he has to distance himself from Obama so that Obama can “appear” to be moving toward the center and get back the voters he lost?
Soros is up to something and what we know is that it’s not clear.

Thank you its about time we force Obama left or find someone that has what it takes..
pretzel62 07:07 PM on 11/18/2010
George Soros is 100% correct! If the President can’t more clearly articulate his vision for this country; if the President can’t stand up to the far right; and, if the President can’t start displaying some leadership qualities it’s time for him to go. The troops are in disarray and he’s not stepping up to rally them.

I am glad to hear that even Soros is conducting a campaign to rid the nation of Obama. He is influential and the radical far left will probably listen to what he says.

I give President Obama until April [2011] to get his act together. If he’s giving in to everything the republicans want and not fighting back I am fully prepared to support a primary challenger to him in 2012 because I am not happy with his performance thus far.
DCDave 09:25 AM on 11/18/2010
Wow if Soros drops Obama, Obama is done.
MSaxe 04:19 PM on 11/17/2010
Obama is not just going to lose Soros’s financial support. Half of his individual donors or more will abandon him based on his behavior vis a vis the GOP, Wall Street, the Professional Left (so to speak), and so on.
The question is where to go next and how to get there without giving the farm to the GOP and right wing nuts.
StopThePlanet 04:20 PM on 11/17/2010
Let’s dump Obama in 2012. He won’t fight for anything he championed and he caves on everything that the elites throw at him. We need a leader not a lapdog.
How do we know that any Soros entity was involved in the Chicago project at any time, including 2004?
It was pretty widely reported. See post #25 for a link describing the initial investors.
There is a lot about Trump that is provable and certainly that includes his donations to liberal Democrat politicians but this accusation of a Soros connection does not appear to be well founded.
Whatever, the originators of the article claimed that Soros had bailed Trump out in 2008. It took many posts to get them off that and I think that was finally established that no bailout took, but only an initial investment in 2004.
I don’t care whether Soros did or didn’t loan money to Trump for this venture back in 2004. I came across some information about ownership or organization changes in the Soros companies, but wasn’t interested enough to sort it all out.
s/b "the originator of this thread".
You’ll probably see Trump detractors trying to use this same supposed Soros connection in other threads before the Trump political involvement dies down.
Might be more opportunities for corrections
Well, Palin must believe in him... she campaigned for his Senate primary race against Hayworth.
Pick up the red phone. I think Glenn Beck is calling you.
Soros has thrown The Kenyan under the bus has told Trump its time to pay the piper for all the loans and the Chicago bailout.
The good news is Soros plan to use Trump to divide the Tea Party wont work.
And its good to get the birth certificate and college scholarship fraud news out there to a bigger audience via Trump, the stooge.
If you believe all of this, especially your laughable last sentence, you should subscribe to Prison Planet. Do you put bottles on top of your door knobs at night?
“Isn’t RICO something usually brought forth by a DA?”
No.
I don’t think that allegations of a RICO conspiracy in a complaint that is stated on “information and belief” and the allegation is that Soros and Trump conspired without any supporting facts or specifics alleged and which suit was tossed without there being any discovery uncovering any such connection is credible “proof” of any such connection.
Now that I know he’s a pal of Soros, he’s definently up to something no good.
Enough of the wackadoos.
I’m a little annoyed that there have been a few requests for the moderator(s) to correct the totally misleading headline, over a period of hours. 8 hours after the first request I noticed, when I return to the thread it’s still there.
How many have jumped on board based on the headline only, without reading even the WSJ article? It’s this knee-jerk reaction that hurts conservatives.
I’m still waiting for a valid Soros-Trump connection to be shown. And, I imagine, I’ll be waiting come the Fall of ‘12. “Almost” being named as co-conspirators in a civil suit that was dismissed somehow isn’t cutting it for me.
“Many Floridians, including my hubby and I, are looking forward to seeing Adam Hasner face Bill Nelson in 2012!”
Won’t that be sweet!
If you took out the name “Trump” in these article and replaced them with the name “Obama,” I don’t think you’d have the same attitude. Why Donald Trump is someone who is beyond any criticism eludes me.
Soros apparently has his fingers in everyone’s business.
Wonder how much sway he has over the GOP?
I have this stinkin feeling we’re (but not necessarily me) gonna get another nominee from the *it’s his turn* department unless we start poopooing that idea right now.
I didn’t take him seriously from the get go.
It’s still not clear whether he is even seriously considering to run or is just masturbating his ego by pretending to.
