Glenn Beck: Sarah Palin damaged her brand
Politico ^ | April12, 2011 | Andy Barr

Glenn Beck doesn’t see Sarah Palin running for president and said she has done some damage to her political brand.

Beck, a constant Palin cheerleader, said flatly on his radio show Monday, “Sarah Palin, I don’t think, wants to run for president.”

The outgoing Fox News personality has hosted Palin on his show several times – once for a full hour – and she has frequently lavished praise on him.

Still, even with all that good will, Beck was frank in assessing what Palin has done to hurt her own political stock – even though he credited her with surviving tough media coverage.

“There are some things about Sarah Palin,” he said, going on to suggest Palin made a mistake by selling her personal story in her first book after leaving the governor’s office, rather than demonstrating some policy credentials.

“She should have come out with that first book, and it should have been deep policy,” he said. “It should have shown that, yes, she knows where Russia is.”

“She didn’t help herself by doing some things to shore herself up,” Beck added.

Still, Beck predicted that Palin “wants to shape the debate,” though he sees her role as outside elective politics.

“I personally think she is on a smart path for the future to be able to hold people together,” Beck said. “It’s ideals that I think she is going for.”

Beck just got too “dark” for my taste. The fun stuff and insightful-historical segments were replaced by “end of the world” and “apocalypse” schtick.

Okay, okay Glenn, I get the Woodrow Wilson schtick. Goldline? Okaaaaaaay. Food insurance? Hmmmmmmm.

You used Palin for your goals, now she’s no longer of any use to you.

I’ve felt for a long time that Beck would stab her in the back.

I’m loving the comments on this thread!

btw - Did anyone watch the History Channel’s show “Sun Tzu: The Art Of War”. It was linked at C4P over the weekend. Sarah knows her Sun Tzu.

I heard his dialogue on Trump religion this morning too. It was childish and I didn’t care for his comments. While I will concede that Donald had some struggles with his answers, I also think it was extremely difficult for him to talk about his faith. After all, no one ever thinks of Trump in terms of going to church or being a believer.

Mockery is the word I think says it best when Glenn and his silly cohorts took on this issue. I will no longer listen to him.

Donald’s faith is between him and God, and maybe he isn’t totally conservative on some issues, he can change, with God’s help.

Sorry, Glenn, it was nice knowing you.

Lots of Mormon women are strongly for Sarah Palin.

They just aren't allowed to say so publicly.

My dear FRiend, I love Sarah, as you know, but I really think this is much ado about nothing. I see no betrayal here. Beck is just expressing his opinion about her tactics; he is not saying she is unfit to lead.

His criticism of her book is quite valid, actually, and I had not thought of it that way before. Let’s face it, most of us who read her book were huge fans, anyway. She could have done herself a lot of good policically by including chapters that showed her grasp of policy. Such material could be thrown into the faces of her many critics.

Polico, along with its fellow travelers, loves getting us riled up and chattering against fellow conservatives. Let’s not take the bait.

Well some how I find it hard to accept Bristol Palin who has a child out of wed lock gets rewarded over $3k to talk about it!

How will those young people feel hearing her message and find this out?

Now maybe if a foundation was set up to help those who do not come from a family where there is no support system that would be the solution.

It just does not set well to profit from one mistake in life.

What are you talking about? Bristol Palin isn’t running for anything. So perhaps you should wander back over to the religion board and stay there.
