IT’S NO DEAL, IT’S A SELLOUT
Dick Morris .com ^ | April 9,2011 | Dick Morris

Posted on 04/09/2011 12:25:41 PM PDT by Hojczyk

John Boehner has just given away the Republican victory of 2010 at the bargaining table. Like the proverbial Uncle Sam who always wins the war but loses the peace, he has unilaterally disarmed the Republican Party by showing that he will not shut down the government and will, instead, willingly give way on even the most modest of cuts in order to avoid it. He now has no arrows left in his quiver.

Having failed to stand firm for just $61 billion in cuts in a budget of $3.7 trillion, how can we expect him to stand firm over the debt limit extension or the 2012 budget? We can’t. The excellent budget proposals of Paul Ryan are no more than a pipe dream now. Boehner has He sold us out now and he’ll sell us out again.

It is the duty of every Republican Congressman to vote no on this terrible deal. It violates our campaign promises to the American people. We promised $100 billion of cuts and we delivered $38 billion ($62 billion on a twelve month basis). In the Republican House’s first real test out of the box it has broken the promise over which it was elected. Only in Meat Loaf’s music is “two out of three not bad.”

This concession makes it clear that:

* Obamacare will not be defunded. * The EPA will not be blocked from regulating carbon. * The NLRB will not be stopped from forcing an end to secret ballots in union contests. * Medicaid will not be block granted and turned over to the states. * Welfare spending will not be cut nor work requirements imposed. * The FCC will not be stopped from regulating talk radio.

In short, we have accomplished nothing by our hard work in 2010.

Except we have learned a lesson.

And the lesson is this: We need to purify our party and purge it of the likes of John Boehner and all those Congressmen who vote for the budget sellout. The Tea Party must take the lead in this purifying fire. We must not let the RINOs win!

DickMorris.com will post prominently (and permanently) the names of all GOP freshmen who vote for this rotten deal. It will be in a column headed: THESE ARE THE SELLOUTS. Check it out and back their primary opponents!

You can win the battles and lose the war. Paul Ryan’s budget is the WAR we ultimately want to win.

Boehner did the right thing here and he held out to the last minute.

There is another vitally important element that, to my knowledge, has yet to be mentioned.

Boehner and the GOP won!. That's important when it comes to setting the stage for future, bigger battles.

Harry Reid agreed to something he didn't want to agree to for a very simple reason: If the matter had come to a vote in the Senate, Reid would've lost!.

Earlier in the day, Joe Lieberman said he would vote for the Republican bill -- and so would several other Democrats.

Reid's caucus is starting to crack. And, with the scheduled votes on de-funding Obamacare and Planned Parenthood, it's not going to get any easier for the vulnerable 'Rats.

Boehner has established a commanding position on the high ground. As a leader and tactician, he surpasses Newt by a mile.

Because Obama TV controls the country. Who would want Boehner’s job? The public watching TV empowers the Dems. Keep watching.

I disagree with Dick Morris.

First, it costs more to ‘temporarily’ shut down parts of the government, than it would if it continued to operate.

The whole concept of the Congress and Senate is that they are supposed to work all this stuff out BEFORE the deadline.

Shutting down the public associated parts of the government doesn’t help any body. We need to slowly phase out all the acronym agencies. Of course, that is like asking a person to cut off their foot. The politicians create more laws, then more agencies to handle those laws, because it generates more cash that can be siphoned off. The bigger the income, the easier it is to hide, and you can take more.

Plus, many of those people in those agencies OWE their position to our Senators and Congressmen, and support them financially during elections, so asking our elected officials to fire those folks , well, you might as well go bang your head against a concrete wall for a while.

If we got rid of all the siphoning, all the corruption, all of the parasites, all the unneeded laws which drive prices up unreasonably, and quit sending our money to other countries so they can buy weapons and attack us, we could probably gain a better control of the economy.

THEN we could phase out those agencies, or combine them. And fire the MULLAHS ( I mean CZARS).

You're giving the GOP "leadership" far too much credit. There is no intelligence or cleverness about them, and they have won nothing here. Well, the good government wing of the party probably feels good today, but the fiscal sanity wing should rightfully view this as a cave.

I'm ready to go Tea Party at this point - the GOP/RNC clearly is not serious about the admittedly tough job that is in front of them.

That people are framing this as a victory or a "step" make me wretch. Worse than that is they are accommodating the destruction of our nation. They exhibit the same mentality that makes Zero think he can have productive negotiations with Ahmajinedad.

The USA isn't headed for doom. It has been doomed. This is what it looks like.

Good luck with that message. Medved, Limbaugh, Levin and Hannity talk of the "big tent", and how a purity test guarantees Democrat victories in perpetuity. We need to allow gay marriage, abortion, hemlock type deaths, welfare, EITC....what a boondoggle that is, thanks Ronnie....free health care for all lazy people, and the few who truly need it. Add in Social Security, paying for the elderly to live in nursing homes instead of with family, you name it, Rinos love big government. Rinos hate smaller govt, they hate the TEA partiers, they hate the Liberty loving, They hate Liberty itself. They talk a halfway decent game, and bend us over with nary a sight of K/Y to ease the suffering.

It is time today to begin the financing and pushing forward with a new party. The Republicans are finished, if they want to hang around and join the Conservative tent, in voting us back to the days of Constitutional rule, they are welcome. They get no more of my money, they get my vote ONLY if I have no better choice, and today I pledge to work for a better party and better choices.

"And this from the little toe-sucker who wasn’t just a RINO, but was the right-hand PR man/vote checker for William Jefferson Clinton. And now he’s to the right of Attila the Hun? Me thinks the little man is compensating here by swinging his pendulum totally over to the right hoping that everyone will forget his past history of working for a Dem Prez, and getting involved in some hankey pankey (remember the toes). I like Dick Morris in spite of himself, but methinks he doth protest too much."

That doesn't make him wrong. This deal doesn't inspire any confidence that the GOP will do any better with the debt ceiling or the 2012 budget. And meanwhile Obamacare and the EPA proceed with the complete takeover of every aspect of the country.

“No abortion money for DC...

WINNING”

Are you serious? Winning for whom? Do you think for a moment any of those future “voters” are going to vote conservative? Sure, let’s have more welfare and single parents, babies with no fathers, crime, poverty, etc, etc keep the cycle going. “Winning” indeed.

Wow, he is off his meds... just because this deal doesnt include everything we want to do, doesnt mean we are giving up on them. And just because Boehner decided not to go to a shutdown over these items know, doesnt

ALL OF THESE ITEMS CAN BE UP AGAIN FOR NEGOTIATION NEXT MONTH OVER THE DEBT CEILING AND IN APPROPRIATIONS BILLS FOR 2012:

* Obamacare will not be defunded.
== WELL, MAKE IT THE PRICE FOR RAISING THE DEBT CEILING
* The EPA will not be blocked from regulating carbon.
= PUT IT IN THE EPA APPROPRIATIONS FOR FY2012

etc. Many more battles to fight. Dick Morris is so off base here I wonder what his real agenda is. Not a great deal but not seellout nor a defeat either. more battles to come.

Once they “bipartisan compromise” us into full Obamacare and a carbon taxation scheme, no working American will be able to survive without government assistance and then they’ll own us as bondservants.

What working American? Between the Carbon Tax and Obamacare, the nongovernment worker will become something to list under the ESA.

Your assumption of two against one is false. Although Democrats can be counted on to vote mostly a party line, and Republicans as well, the battle is to win opponents over to the SIDE OF FISCAL SANITY. It needs to be shown so clearly that there is no mistake, you propose a BALANCED BUDGET to the country as a whole. BYPASS the MSM, buy time on all the networks. Tell us what is at stake, and pressure people to contact their representatives on both sides of the aisle. There is no time to waste waiting on a possible change in the Senate and the Presidency in 2 years. The time is NOW, we MUST CUT NOW, or never have the chance again. This is not a marathon, this is a mad dash to save the country. We have no time for end strategy, just "man the oars" of all out effort, or go the F home. The ship of state is headed over the falls, and I fear it has already picked up so much steam, it is irreversable. Soon the interest payment on the debt will be over a $Trillion per year, wait until high interest kicks in. Can you say $2 Trillion to pay before any other bills?

In 2012, without substantial cuts, in the neighborhood of a Trillion a year, the Democrats will take back the House, keep the Senate, and 0 will win in a landslide. They will pin the $6-$7 Trillion that 0 has spent in debt on the Republican Congress, and the MSM will buy it. Just wait and see if I am right.

I'm ready to go Tea Party at this point - the GOP/RNC clearly is not serious about the admittedly tough job that is in front of them.

Both parties fear the tea party. Both parties ignore the constitution. Both parties are callous to the death of the unborn, the securing of the border, the fiat money system controlled by non-government Fed. Both engage in smear and subversion of patriots. We have been sold out! We had the presidency and both houses and were betrayed. There is no hope in the GOP, they have bought. The tea party will be marginalized and mocked by the press and both parties.

We are past critical mass, voting cannot change the coming demise of the last great hope for liberty on planet earth. The only hope for the establishment of liberty again is probably by the same means it was won last time. By the blood of patriots who care more for holy cause of liberty and their progeny than their comfort. Men who do not fear death nearly as much as they despise tyranny. To find such men, we will have to raise them and that will take a great deal of national repentance.
