Morris: "I want a cut of $61 billion. I want the Republicans in Congress to keep the campaign commitment to the American people of a $100 billion cut. And I'm shocked at your interview with Congresswoman Bachmann. She was saying, 'Oh, there's going to be a deal, they'll come together, there'll be a compromise'. Well a compromise that is less than $61 is BREAKING THE PROMISE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. And, above all....

I wish you would listen to what you are saying, and I wish people would really listen and understand that you are correct. Completely, and in every way. And this doesn’t just apply to Bachman.

The Tea Party is the only real chance America has.

All politicians need the media. Republicans are in a difficult position, the media is leftist, their base is on the right. If Republicans stay true to conservative principles, they get slaughtered by the media. This costs them the swing vote, and they lose their job.

Republicans are rightfully terrified of the media.

The only chance for real change is to make Republicans more fearful of the Tea Party than they are of the media.

To put it most kindly, she’s no “profile in courage.”

Outside of her rhetoric, what evidence is there that she ever was a "profile in courage"? I've heard no specifics, only shallow political rhetoric designed to attract the interest of T.E.A. party followers. At this stage of the game I find it amazing that so many people are so willing to accept her rhetoric at face value.

This is a promise the GOP made unconditionally to the American public and why it won a resounding victory in the November elections.

Which is exactly why the Dems will not budge on the budget. They want to wave the bloody shirt of failure to the American people to show them that the Republicans cannot keep their promises, and so will lose favor with the voters. Despondent voters will stay away from the polls and government parasites will overwhelm the system once and for all...............

I tend to disagree here. She is courageous enough to go out on a limb with her own opinion but she is not showing good conservative judgement. That is what bothers me.

It's not that she has to perfectly reflect every single Tea Party point exactly, it's that she doesn't seem to see how her point doesn't allow for good negotiation strategy. Without that you can't win. You lose. That's bad.

Morris isn’t the issue and he’s not a prospective presidential candidate. But, like him or hate him, he can READ PEOPLE and is a political genius. Ask Bill Clinton.

Stop with the RINO balony. That’s just propoganda from people who don’t understand the system of check’s and balances and why voting is so important.

RINO baloney? It is exactly because of RINOs that we are here. Do you NOT understand that RINOs NEVER vote for measures that improve our Liberty? Do you NOT understand that for the past 70 years government has been always growing?

Checks and balances???? That is naive high school talk. Our Republic is at the precipice. We are being bankrupted by the left and RINOs.

For our Republic to survive the government at all levels must be drastically reduced. To save this Republic we should support and people with the Warrior mindset -- that will go to D.C. and state capitals and begin the task of outright dismantling of all these wealth transfer programs.

Checks and Balances?? Heck, Liberty has been smothered more and more for the pass 100 years. Yea, balance towards Liberty would be nice -- ALL RINOs, every single last one, never will vote for Liberty. NEVER again will I ever cast a vote for a RINO.

I have searched for a quote from Michelle that proves Morris’s contention...so far I haven’t found it. Not to say one doesn’t exist, but before I dump all over somebody that the Left is out to utterly destroy, I want to see it directly from her and not from what somebody else says about it.

And this doesn’t just apply to Bachman.

I can count on one hand (with fingers to spare) the number of critters in Congress that it doesn't apply. How many times must a person's shoes be pissed upon by members of the same body (both sides of the aisle) before they realize it really isn't raining?

If it comes down to Bachmann vs. Morris, I trust Bachmann. Her motives are more transparent, she loves the country. Not sure what Mr. Morris loves, except greenbacks. No offense intended.

Bachman is a major lightweight who says a lot of stupid things.

My gut instinct about Bachmann is that she is indeed a lightweight who has let all of the "Tea Party darling" adulation go to her head. I'd be more than happy to be wrong, but I think she is dramatically overestimating her own ability and influence.

Coming out with the idea that they could drop the rider to defund Planned Parenthood cuts her own side off at the knees, as the supposed "weakling" Boehner is holding firm.

And she thinks she's Presidential material? Sure, compared to the shlub currently in office, but that's not the standard we need to hold people to.

What is all this canablilism going on in the GOP for? You people are on the wrong track, it’s called, vote. If people don’t like it, then next time they will vote in more GOP to get the job done. Stop attacking the GOP. You are being used by people who think they have figured out a new form of propoganda to get control for THEMSELVES. Reagan would have never declared war on the GOP, just remember that. He united the GOP and went after Independents and conservative Democrats.

Bachmann neither waffled nor went namby-pamby. She offered a different strategy. She thought this year end appropriation which is really only a difference of a few billion dollars was NOT “a hill to die on.” She would vote against it anyway, since it didn’t deal with ObamaCare, BUT, she felt the BIG DEAL was the 2011-2012 ANNUAL BUDGET. THAT’S “the hill on which to die.” Next years budget is where Michele felt we could demand cuts of literally hundreds of billions of dollars — and trillions over the next 5-10 years, including ObamaCare.

She didn’t “waffle.” She just believed we’d have a STRONGER POSITION to take a stand in a few weeks when we are arguing about the next annual budget rather than the few months left in this years budget. Even if we win this time, we’ll have to REFIGHT this battle all over again on next years budget in a few weeks or months. And while I’m not opposed to allowing the Dems to force a Shutdown now, I think Michele has a good strategic point.

Don’t talk her down just because you disagree with her strategy and tactics. She’s NOT going soft. She’s not folding. Saying that is a disservice to her — and to thinking Conservatives in general.

No, I agree. But now, again, one -- the bill that was sent over today to the Senate had to do with abortion. But what it did is, it cut out the abortion in Washington, D.C. It didn't necessarily defund Planned Parenthood. So that shows movement and negotiation on the part of John Boehner.

"I say no compromise. Shut it down!"

Amen, sister!

Morris was on a ROLL last night. And was he angry to the max....it showed vividly in his face as he made a right-from-the-gut whiz-banger on the possibility of the Pubs caving in.

Greta tried to cut him off with one of her squeaky, limp questions, but he cooly asked her to finish, never skipped a beat and kept right on going till he finished what he had to impart. He made sense in everything he said....and had the backup and analysis to go with it.

Greta is an average-to-okay interviewer, but what makes Rush GREAT is his intuitive light bulb that goes on and impels him to let a caller rant on when the caller is impassioned, informative and makes sense like Morris did last night.

She is courageous enough to go out on a limb with her own opinion but she is not showing good conservative judgement.

What people have to decide is whether her courage comes from deep-seated Conservative principles or if it is a political calculation designed to keep her in the spotlight to further her future political goals. Given the utter lack of specifics in her rhetoric I'd have to say it appears to me that it is the latter......

"I thought she was pro-life. This sure doesn't sound like it."

It DEFINITELY doesn't sound like it! I about fell off my chair when I heard her say this.

I don't need a hammer hit on my head to wake me up when I hear a couple sly but definite signs of waffling regarding the bill like I heard from Bachman last night. I'm too educated a freeper and too versed in the English language not to grasp what I hear in political jabberwocky.

If she was supporting some grand GOP strategery in her mind, she sure didn't make it clear to the viewing public.
