Glenn Beck will end his daily Fox News Channel program later this year.
His departure was jointly announced in a statement on Wednesday by Fox and Mr. Becks company, Mercury Radio Arts. The statement did not specify an end date for the show, called Glenn Beck, which has been telecast at 5 p.m. on Fox News since early 2009.

I decided to listen to Beck this morning and found out he had been dropped for a local host last week. I hadn’t tuned in for awhile because, frankly, I get depressed listening to him.
Wish list to replace Beck at time slot:
1) The John Bolton Show
2) The Herman Cain Hour
3) Conservatism with Thomas Sowell
4) Walter Williams explains Economics
5) Reruns of Ronald Reagan speeches
6) The Ted Nugent 2nd Amendment show
You forgot 1.5) S.E. Cupp & Ann Coulter Take on Liberals
You shouldn't get depressed, after all everything is sunshine and lollypops.
Get a grip man if the news doesn't depress you, then you aren't paying attention. Ignoring it will not make the sunshine brighter or the lollypops any bigger.
I liked John, but I do not believe he would be considered a Social Conservative. I also remember John way back at MSNBC..NEWS CHAT I believe it was called, they had a cast of mostly very liberal hosts, and they used to marvel at the daily poll results every day, was a heavily conservative audience at the time.
So ya I like him but not a Social Christian pro life pro family Conservative, unless he has changed his tune...hopefully that`s the case. But regardless he never had monster ratings, I suggested Steve Maltzberg, actually I am asking that Steve replace Bill O at 8 PM....
If Steve does not give you a chill/thrill up your leg :) howabout Mark Levin taking over Beck`s 5 PM slot???
With no commercial endorsements on Beck’s show, it was only a matter of time. Fox subsidized Beck for longer than I thought they would. But Fox can’t afford to pay for a show that can’t pay for itself.
I’ve BEEN depressed since November 4, 2008. Nothing that Beck could say or do could possibly make me any MORE depressed than what the Idiot-In-Chief and his leftist swills have already made me.
Plus...I’m one of those unusual people that would rather know and be aware of the doom and devastation that’s descending on us all.... than to be very unpleasantly surprised. I’m just funny that way.
I know what you mean.
I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, Social Security, retirement funds, etc...that I called a Suicide Hotline. I had to press 1 for English.
I was connected to a call center in Pakistan. I told them I was suicidal. They got excited and asked if I could drive a truck.....
It’s kind of like having cancer and having somebody call every day to tell you that you will probably be dead in 6 months. Eventually, you quit answering the phone.
See post 48.
And nothing of value was lost.
That's funny.
Here on the West coast O'Blowhard is on at 5 and I watch him for amusement.
I also record every Beck TV show on Fox. I deleted very few of them; Everyone has "off" days.
No loss. He has slipped right off the deep end a while ago. He is the mainstream Alex Jones. He is embarrassing to the conservative movement. Good Riddance
Hah hah hah!
Funny!
Ed
Unless you're already dead.
Everybody's individual choice.
Agreed.
O.R is just a big blowhard that loves to hear himself blow and blow tons of hot blustery air.
O.R. has his moments, — but not many of them in recent months. His pious “TMZ” segments, where he’s “shocked”, shocked, I tell you at these Spring-Break girls taking shots with no tops on videos for example is contrived for viewers and is so pandering and pathetic.
Such LONG segments too, right at the end of the show, to max attention. It’s ridiculous. Is this where Fox is going? Sad.
When I see O.R. doing this I change the channel to Cavuto - or I go read a book.
when I get really depressed, I log into free republic for restorative posts like this one :-)
