Today is the day. The election results in November where we swept out the Democrat trash and took back our state gov't in Wisconsin will have meant nothing if the Rats can nullify that election by taking over the State Supreme Court.
My son is a student in Madistan, the heart of Kloppenberg country, enemy territory, on the campus of UW. he just left his polling place and was voter number 106. In the November election, he voted an hour later (1pm) and was voter 500+. He said student enthusiasm at UW seems pretty low and turnout will not be so strong. Judging from the number he was at noon, I suspect he is right.
Any other reports about turnout from around the state? I am off to vote soon here in the heart of Ozaukee County and will post on that later.
There was a sign like that on the front door of City Hall. First time I've ever seen that. Has there been a law passed since November requiring it be posted?
There is a law in the state legislature to require ID. It has not passed yet but since many people thought that it already had they were posting signs to let people know that as of yet they do not need ID.
I won’t be going to the polls until later this evening and won’t be able to post my thoughts on this until tomorrow. By then, it won’t matter what I think.
I’m an optomist and I think that Prosser is going to pull through.
Lincoln Elementary in Port Washington around noon or so. I was #118. I was the only one when I went in, but saw others as I left. Saukville looked busy when I went by there shortly before. There were 2 police cars there. Weird, especially cuz I think there are probably only 2 or 3 in Saukville!
My wife was #7 this a.m., I just voted and was #101 (4:00p.m.) I am obviously in the boondocks. (Glendale township near Kendall)
Not that there is anything wrong with that ...
The Dem candidate has failed at several election tries. I think that the GOP is favored.
On the other hand, a smile, even a weak smile, is worth something ...
Very frustrated ...3pm .#176 Adams county 2nd ward Preston twsp. No Republicans running for local offices throughout the county. Area largely left up to its own devices . So a few (leastwise I did) made up a magnetic sign which was used when I went to Catholic church mass. Assigned a few vols to work from a call list given by Prosser’s campaign . I developed a chat sheet and calls I made refered to the org website http://adams.wisgop.info/. To one piece dealing t with the Kloppenburg slur and think links were to media-trackers as well.
That mug just screams “Feminazi.”
I’m not in WI but I’m optimistic. Hard working folks don’t go vote until late in the day after work, and they’re likely to be conservative.
Not illegal. The police will do nothing about it.
I hope that James T Harris kicked up a big fat fuss! Knowing him, he will and he will be heard!
You must have an ID to REGISTER, but if you are already on the voting rolls you do not need an ID to vote.
I was voter number 4 at 7:03 AM in my ward (16, City of West Allis). I expected to have to run a gauntlet of unionistas, but there weren’t any there; too early for them, most likely. There were three people waiting behind me to vote. I didn’t miss the County Exec spot on the ballot, I went over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure I got them all checked!
Those were at mine, too; when I walked up to the poll worker she said "Name?" and I just handed her my DL; she said, "Oh, that's not necessary, but it does make our job easier!" That's when I noticed the sign taped to the table in front of her.
