KARL ROVE: Donald Trump Is Discrediting The Entire Republican Party
Business Insider ^ | 3/31/11 | Steven Loeb

Posted on 03/31/2011 7:47:38 PM PDT by jimbo123

onald Trump appeared on the O'Reilly Factor last night and proceeded to reiterate, yet again, how he doesn't think that Obama was born in the United States and that he is not showing his birth certificate because it might show that he is a Muslim and on and on.

It was all of the same stuff he has been saying over and over and over and over and over for the past two weeks. Thankfully, Trump's point of view was not shared by the rest of O'Reilly's guests or even by O'Reilly himself.

During their interview, O'Reilly expressed disbelief that Trump was actually a birther at all, and O'Reilly's next guest, Karl Rove, also tried to distance himself and the rest of the Republican party from Trump's newfound birtherism.

Somebody tell Rove he doesn’t speak for Republicans.

***************************

With all respect, lonestar, he most certainly does.

Who he does not speak for, and never has, is conservatives.

*************************

With all respect to you, I am both Repub and conservative.

Rove doesn't speak for me. In fact, I know a lot of Repubs but I don't know anybody who likes Rove.

Karl Rove should just join Team Obama and be done with it.

“No other conventional politician is going to challenge China or OPEC like he would.”

I loved the second segment where he said what he’d do about Iraq and Iran (if only BOR didn’t keep interrupting, and I think DT was getting quite irritated at him for it).

Trump has become an unexpected gift - he has the guts to say what most of us have been thinking, with the smarts, power and resources to back it up. I hope he keeps getting a bigger eyeful and earful every day on what a criminal fraud has been perpetrated on this country.

Karl Rove is partially correct - the Republican Party is being discredited. The reason: The failure of the GOP leadership to understand what actually happened in Election 2010. Democrat-Lite is back in fashion in D.C.

More and more, Rove sounds like a typical Apparatchik with his over-the-top rhetoric, a DUPE in other words. We have lots of those these days.

It’s all about splitting the Palin primary vote and getting the nomination for Romney.

I doubt Trump would take many votes from Palin. He's more likely to take votes from Romney in the blue states. It's Huckabee who'd compete with Palin for many of the same votes in the South and many Midwestern and Western states.

Actually, if Trump does run and continues to talk bluntly about the loss of respect for the US, and the unfair trade relationships with China and others, and other issues most are afraid to touch, he might become a wild card who would pull votes from all candidates.

I don't think his impact on the primaries can be predicted at this point.

If Trump were to try putting the squeeze on China, they’ll react by dumping our bonds on the market.

They can't. There is no one to take them. China is more vulnerable than we are on the T-bills they hold.

He is questioning Hussein’s credibility. Lets face it. Most Americans have some serious questions about Hussein.

I think Trump is showing more courage than many republicans weve seen.

Sorry Karl, Don is RIGHT. There’s a Muslim in the White House & running the country.

Nope!!! I post on this forum on my own...I'm a free thinking conservative. I don't buy into the whole "birther" conspiracy so I'm not popular on this forum...and I don't mindlessly flock to candidates who are birthers, like everyone else on this forum.

A word of advice to anyone who 'lives and dies' by the birther issue...be prepared to be embarrassed when 0bama does release his birth certificate. He will do so at the date and time of his choosing...probably one that will discredit any opponent who builds his/her candidacy on that issue.

I well remember when many FReepers referred to Rove as The “Magnificent Bastard”.

Never liked the smarmy turd even then, but bit my lip and let the cheerleaders do their thing.

Rove might well speak for Republicans. He doesn't, however, speak for conservatives, and that;s his problem.
