KARL ROVE: Donald Trump Is Discrediting The Entire Republican Party
Business Insider ^ | 3/31/11 | Steven Loeb

Posted on 03/31/2011 7:47:38 PM PDT by jimbo123

onald Trump appeared on the O'Reilly Factor last night and proceeded to reiterate, yet again, how he doesn't think that Obama was born in the United States and that he is not showing his birth certificate because it might show that he is a Muslim and on and on.

It was all of the same stuff he has been saying over and over and over and over and over for the past two weeks. Thankfully, Trump's point of view was not shared by the rest of O'Reilly's guests or even by O'Reilly himself.

During their interview, O'Reilly expressed disbelief that Trump was actually a birther at all, and O'Reilly's next guest, Karl Rove, also tried to distance himself and the rest of the Republican party from Trump's newfound birtherism.

If Trump and Palin split the Birther vote, Romney gets the nomination.

Read (maybe here?) that Trump's Mother was a Brit living here and married to American citizen, when 'the Donald' was born. Do not know how 'true/impacting' per details and whether this affect his ambitions. . .which given his ego; I think are legitimate.

A contrasting story would be that Trump, by his going here; legitimizes the debate re Obama's birth info. By 'trail blazing' example, Trump reminds Repubs; if they fail to do same; they risk a great deal more. He is making it easier for Repubs; not worse; per Karl Rove's claim.

(Think Rove and et al 'anti' birthers are wrong! This swamp deserves wading through, IMHO and think Trump is demonstrating, just that.)

Trump-Rubio 2012?

Bad idea. Even though I'm thrilled with Trump's birtherism, he's an unknown commodity. The fact remains that Trump has contributed to campaigns of the likes of Teddy Kennedy and John F. Kerry.
As for Rubio, he is not a natural born citizen, just like Soetoro. His parents were Cuban exiles at the time of his birth.

You both make good points; I'm not too serious when I suggest the pairing.

Although, potentially putting NY’s EVs in play is fun to think about.

he [Trump] does understand the leverage that is available to someone that owes a lot of money.

He has been there himself.

China is not in the best bargaining position.

China has some looming problems that are overlooked by most of the cheerleaders for China.

In 2006 The republicans lost control of the house for the first time since 1994. 31 seats vaporized and dominated by democrats - thanks Karl.

Mr. Rove is not correct, and this silly public in-fighting is not the doing the Republicans any good.

Frankly, I find Mr. Rove's spirited defense of the clearly ineligible Kenyan usurper in the worst taste. I won't support any candidate who decides to use Mr. Rove in his campaign (and I believe that the odds are very good that he will be part of the Romney campaign, although he has been publicly critical of Romneycare.)

We conservatives ARE the Republicans.

******************************

Untrue for more than twenty years.

Conservatives are to the GOP what blacks are to the Democrats.

Money pools and voting blocks, with little or no influence on policy, and kept on board with promises and buzzwords.

Trump’s mom, Mary McLoed, was a Scot who was naturalized in Queens NY in 1942. Donald was born in Queens in 1946. So he is an NBC.

Somebody should tell this pompous @$$ to shut his mouth.

Not only does he NOT speak for all Republicans, he doesn;t even speak for MOST of us.

I LIKE Trump - A LOT.

I think he would make a GREAT President, just on his attitude!!

Wow—did you ever nail it. Nobody is better at this game than Boehner. He is the master of saying the right thing while seldom actually accomplishing anything significant for the conservative cause. In fact, according to Rush, Boehner hotly resents the pressure of the TEA partiers to cut more from the budget and defund Obamacare. DC needs a good, thorough housecleaning, starting at the top.

Well, that's a relief. Perhaps I've just seen too many "Blank for President!!!" posts ;-)

Yes, that's been the case for a long time now, but it's changing. The Tea Party is seeing to that. It may take a few flushes, but we're going to clear the bowl of all the RINOs.

Although, I’d love to see Trump verbally beat down Soetoro. That would be “Must See TV”!

I once heard Donald Trump testifying at a committee hearing about funding the renovation of the UN building in New York City, a project now in progress, I believe, at the cost of billions.

In short, Trump incisively analyzed the problem, completely exposed and dissected the stupid bureaucratic fiasco the UN was planning to make out of it, and outlined how it could be done faster, better, and for half the cost.

Funny hairdo notwithstanding, Trump is a very sharp thinker. A lot sharper than Rove, imo, or the usual squalid members of the political class.

You've been reading leftist disinformation. Trump's mother was born Scottish, but became a naturalized American four years before Trump was born.

There you go cricket. If your intel is correct, where Donald’s mother was not a natural born citizen, this could get very interesting. Course, with Obie, the precedent for a child, with only one citizen parent, has already been established.

Not that anything else about Obie has been established. For all we know, he could be love child of some Saudi “Prince,” and born in Kenya, as his Kenyan kin claim.
