Pastor had sex with teens to cure their homosexuality
WI Gazette ^ | March 25, 2011

Posted on 03/30/2011 8:34:47 PM PDT by Neil E. Wright

Brent_Girouex- A former youth pastor in Council Bluffs, Iowa, says he had sex with teenage boys because it was his pastoral duty “to help (the teen) with homosexual urges bypraying while he had sexual contact with him.”

But law enforcement has a different view of his actions. Earlier this month, Brent Girouex, 31, was arrested on 60 counts of suspicion of sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist, reported The Daily Nonpareil.

In February, Girouex told Council Bluffs police detectives that he had sexual contact with four young men starting in 2007 in order to help them gain “sexual purity in the eyes of God.”

But Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber told the Nonpareil that at least eight men have come forward with complaints that Girouex molested them.

Court documents indicated Girouex told investigators the most sexual contact he had was with one teen over a four-year period, starting when the boy was 14 years old. Calling the contact “mutual,” he said it had occurred between “25 and 50 times” during that period.

When investigators spoke to the teen, who’s now an adult, he told them the number was between 50 and 100.

Three other young men who were teenagers when the incidents occurred told investigators the sex occurred at Girouex’s home. All said they went to be helped with “sexual purity.”

“When they would ejaculate, they would be getting rid of the evil thoughts in their mind,” Girouex allegedly told detectives.

Wilber said investigators are following leads to see if there are more victims. Girouex is currently free on $30,000 bond.

I realize that - I’m sorry I wasn’t accusing. I’m a Protestant but believe if this had been a Catholic Priest, it would have been posted across the headline.

So engaging in more sexual impurity is how you gain sexual purity...sort of like saying the way to help someone with alcoholism is to get them drunk and become and alcoholic yourself to cure them.

What do you expect in a country that is run by a man and a group of idiots who think you can BORROW AND SPEND YOUR WAY OUT OF DEBT!!

“Protestant” is a denomination in exactly the same way “foreign” is a nationality.

True - I was pointing out I am not Catholic but do feel the Catholic bashers would have been on this like white on rice had it been a Priest.

This wasn’t pedophilia, this was pederasty; sex with teenagers, not minors.

What is the difference? Both are with minors - does the definition really matter?

True, both are minors, but pedophilia is the legal term for sexual activity with a pre-pubescent minor.

Little is said about the homosexual builtin urge to molest immature boys - it seems to be their nature

That is why old gays are the loneliest group of people, from what I hear.

whatever.

It’s still criminal and barbarous.

Anyone looking at a minor in a sexual way should be shot.

I’m a Protestant but believe if this had been a Catholic Priest, it would have been posted across the headline.

Here's the difference between how these crimes are handled in Protestant churches and in Roman Catholic churches.

In Roman Catholic churches, these pederast priests are defended, the crimes denied, the victims sworn to secrecy, and if the heat gets too great, these priests are shuffled from one unsuspecting parish to the next where they can continue to rape children. Some are even promoted.

The link given at the beginning of this article gives more details on how this case was handled by a Protestant church. Roman Catholics should read this and learn how to protect their children...

"The Rev. Lonnie Parton of Victory Fellowship Church said church leaders were stunned when four young men came forward with allegations against Girouex in February.

Once Parton learned of the allegations, he confronted Girouex and told him he needed to go to the police and make a confession. He did so on Feb. 16.

Get the difference? When vile accusations like this are made, the police are called in and people are arrested.

No stalling. No banal defenses which attack the victims all over again.

God help the children whose church's care more about the reputations of pederast priests than the well-being of its young.

MrEdd wrote: “Protestant” is a denomination in exactly the same way “foreign” is a nationality.”

And you responded: “True”

Yet you just told us you’re a Protestant. Strange that you’d agree with a snarky comment about your faith.

Most Protestants I know wouldn’t accept MrEdd’s definition.

Ah — no wonder the OPC and the PCA hides the large number of predator pastors almost as well as they hide the facts that they do not believe in Jesus Christ as God.
