White house did put out notice of denial that they are supporting the Rebels. Not that that’s the truth..just sayng they deny this....
A lot of dis-information happening these days....hard to keep up with what is true or just propaganda. Lots of reports they are doing this though....I suspect at least boots on the ground organzing the rebels now and targeting airstrikes as well.
Posted the article from drudge that was mentioned in post #50 “for the record” and agree that there is much dis-information.
It was only a few days ago there was noted a difference in how the rebels were conducting their attacks against Gaddafi....some saying that’s because there are active military toops with them now, imbedded, besides those from the rebels assiting them now.
I don’t think Obama would have gone into this without knowing very early we’d have to have some troops there, just to line up the air attacks...but how many and where now is another story...I did read there were over 1,000 there, but then agin could be propoganda to makee Gaddafi wonder.

As Admiral Yamamoto warned, we could indeed put “a rifle behind every blade of grass.” But what kind of ENORMOUS motivation, what dire shock to the system, will it take to get Americans off their couches and pull those rifles down from the mantlepiece?

Bashar was a wee bit slow and considered a “sissy.” The cia and MI5 took him under their wing and groomed him for succession, expecting him to be pro-western.
They convinced Israel that assad would be the opposite of his father and sign a peace agreement with them, so Israel backed the deal.
Once he got into power, his REAL handler, an iraqi general loyal to saddam hussein and the baath party, became his closest advisor. He cut off all communications with the West and assad spoke to no one for a long time. His advisor did the talking.
The west spent millions creating a phoney resume for assad, and they were just shut out as if they never existed.

Listen, Just Piper wasn’t chased, she left all by herself. She opened her own website for her own personal reasons and we wish her well, but it left a huge void here. No one knew she was leaving and it caught us all flatfooted.

I have been wondering that myself. Which straw is going to break our back. Treason at the highest levels of our government and we seem to think that if we just wait it out, someone wearing a white hat will come and save us at high noon.
The corruption has saturated every single level of our government from smalltown, USA to the House on the Hill. There doesn’t seem to be anywhere left to turn, but we continue searching for a miracle.
Well, miracles happen, but some of them have a price. The founding of this country was a miracle. The price was almost insurmountable, but our forefathers paid it and we have wasted it. I don’tknow if such a miracle will happen again. I don’t know if we even deserve such a miracle anymore. But if it does happen, the price will be far greater for us than it was for them. Who is willing to risk that? What will it take? I shudder to contemplate the answer to that.

Did you check out some of the older threads? Some of these guys have been here since 2003. I am a newbie. Last year was when I really got involved at someone else’s behest. So MOST of this was way before me. Free Republic has been doing great research for years. That is what brought me here. As I told someone a couple of years ago, it seemed that everytime I began to research a subject, really, no matter What subject, Free Republic was always outstanding in the depth and breadth and scope of its research acumen.
How could I resist?

I agree....and we don't need our boys there either. I say let the wealthy Arab and ME states do this deed entirely....but there simply is no way Britain or France are going to forfeit the oil to the Arabs. That just isn't going to happen. Further I think they strong-armed the US to get involved...pay back time for helping In Iraq and Afhganistan....but let them put their troops on the ground..not ours.
Yes it is....hand my hands plenty full keeping up with it as it moved. But these dections have been underway for a couple weeks as they had finally direct contact with Gaddafi’s circle...basically told them they had them in their line of fire and what did they want to do...and they did too! Just a matter of the decision they would make and how to get them out.
I linked to a post up the thread a ways, the last Video Musa gave as it seems revealing...no longer bold and could hardly hold his head up...I still wonder why that is for certain....not so sure this whole defection thing isn’t just getting Gaddafi’s people out before Gaddafi leaves and part of the bargan Gaddafi has struck. Many questions.
