Kristol: Palin probably won't, shouldn't be nominee
Politico ^ | March 230, 2011 | Ben Smith

Posted on 03/23/2011 9:47:13 AM PDT by EveningStar

Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol was among Sarah Palin's earliest Washington admirers, and helped bring her to the national stage, but he said this week that while he still admires her, he questions her choices and doesn't think she should be the Republican nominee for president.

“Nice try, taking only part of her quote...the part that is meaningless.”

I agree, but thats the extent of what you posted to me in #266......

BOR?????? come on...... the guys a jerk who’s in love with the Obamanation........I must say that takes guts to use BOR as an arguement.....

I hope someday you can wipe the brown stuff off your glasses and see the light. Question????? Wouldn’t you be happier posting on some other forum....say..... DU?

Your time would be better spent touting your own horse rather than attacking the favorite of others. But then you wouldn’t be in that comfy cat-bird seat now would you?

Say? Just who is your horse? Oh I get it, you don’t know yet (or aren’t saying), until your concerns are addressed! LOLOLOLOL Magically any day know I suspect some 3rd party long long shot will appear in your postings as the savior of Conservatism and America.....

Ref posts 48 & 104: landslide

There is a world outside of message boards and talk radio. It's called the real world. It includes not only conservatives but also swing voters and people on the Left.

In 1980, Reagan carried the swing voters and probably a few hardcore Democrats who had never voted for a Republican.

Palin cannot do this. She is not the successor to Reagan no matter how much you wish her to be.

She pretty much is but Kristol would dump his grandmother in a heart-beat if he thought she was no longer of value to his cause. The neocons did not get where they are by betting on losers and Sarah is a loser politically. Now I have a question for you: how can you still be for Sarah after she helped goad Obama into the Libyan quagmire?

Of course all that matters is that BOR asked the question. Palin’s answer means nothing.....you guys are pretty funny...I doubt that the American voter will be laughing with you though.

“Of course all that matters is that BOR asked the question.”

Maybe BOR should have asked Obama about his Natural Born Citizen status....If he had he’d have had some stature, other than what it is now......

“you guys...”

Ronnie Reagan admonished Republicans/Conservatives to not speak ill of each other. His intent was to keep us focused upon the positive, and to prevent the loyal (sic) opposition from getting sound clips/talking points from a candidate’s primary opponet that could harm him in the general.

Us guys (and gals) on the Palin threads like her as a candidate and for the most part talk about her strengths while acknowledging that no one is 100% in lockstep with our individual ideas and is therefore not “perfect.” We as a group figure that her 90% good is more than enough for us.

People such as yourself go through life being upset with everyone, and, at least in Palin’s case, never let an opportunity go by to throw mud in her, and in her supporters direction.

Shout about it all you want, but it is my personal opinion that you not only do great disservice to the Conservative cause because of your negitive attitudes, but also do it great harm. Something that oft times seems intentional.

The article was about Christine O’Donnell. I meant to type “O’Donnell” but had a brain fart and typed “Obama” instead. Everyone on the thread knew that but chose to be jackasses instead.

Oh, that's just silly. Wish or not wish, we'll see. In any case, it's not my wish, rather, it is my prediction. And be sure to understand, it is all predicated on whether she will run or not. I can't predict that.

I'm not a psychic, but I am a wagering man....

“...how can you still be for Sarah after she helped goad Obama into the Libyan quagmire?”

For a person that you claim has no chance at the presidency, you sure like to give her credit for heavy influence on Obama....lololololol

Get it straight will ya!

Either she is a “loser” like you think, and therefore is wasting her breath commenting on Obama’s actions inactions because no one in their right mind listens to a “loser.”

or

She is not a loser but has huge influence on US policy, and therefore should be at the helm instead of Odumbo.

Can’t have it both ways now can you? It just wouldn’t make sense.

Your sentence begs the question......”Is Libya a quagmire?”
Sounds like a re-cycled Dem talking point......
Say.....whose side are you on now anyway?

Number one...I never shout. Number two...suggesting that opposition to palin equals “doing great harm to the conservative movement” is just silly....the issue is not Bill O’Reilly, it is palin’s answer to his question...

Still raining on my parade ?? LOL

These arguments (both sides) on this thread are rapidly becoming OBE. Sign #2 of MY long standing prediction just went up:

#1 : Palin was not suspended by FNC with the other two
Now #2 : Bachmann announced an exploratory for 2012, remember her condition for this?

I gotta feeling some “I-told-you-so”s are coming.

Good news on both counts, if true.

No it is the end of the world. Nothing left if she doesnt run. I am loading up on green (energy efficient) light bulbs and breaking them in my garage while I sip that last glass of wine in my corvette :)

Sorry, but my judgment is better than yours, and I say she can.

Will some Palin supporter please explain to me how the various statements I have just read on line mean something other than what they seem to mean?

In 2008 Sarah said we can’t deport 12 million people. Was that just McLame’s handlers pulling the strings?

In other interviews she has said things that seem to mean that she can accept some solution other than deporting each and every illegal alien.

Is this factual? Is that her position?

That’s what an election is for. I love the panic at the mere thought of her actually joining the race. She is not what others are defining her as.

If I were ever to allow any credibility to what BK thinks, somebody shoot me on sight. Since I will have completely lost my Constitutionally conservative mind.

Kristol is a mealy mouthed liberal, who attempts to portray himself as a conservative. Anyone buying into his BS, is as liberal as he is.

Sarah Palin will kick ass if she runs. This is what Kristol fears the most. His fear is shared by other like liberals who falsely claim to be conservatives. Karl Rollover comes to mind. He fears Sarah more than Bill. Sarah will turn all their worlds upside down. All their BS theories will be completely destroyed. Since Sarah is absolutely electable.

Go Sarah. America needs you.

Order of the British Empire? Old but everlasting? Out board engine? On board equivalent? Out of body experience?

OBE : Overtaken By Events. Maybe it doesn't matter if we think she should or shouldnt. Maybe she decided long ago.

Where you been?
