DISGUSTING… WI Progressives Blame Scott Walker For Teacher’s Suicide

by Jim Hoft

Saturday, March 19, 2011, 1:35 PM

These People Are Disgusting…

The far left is using a woman’s suicide to attack Governor Scott Walker.

The Progressive, a liberal website in Wisconsin, reported this week that a Wisconsin teacher committed suicide because of Governor Scott Walker’s union bill. The website says she was “distraught” to learn that she was going to have to pay 12.6% instead of 6% of her insurance premium...

All I am saying is that that mentally ill woman should not have been allowed to get near any children. How sickening that people who are mentally ill are allowed in the teaching profession...that is why unions have got to be abolished. They force incompetent teachers into the schools.

Blaming others for everything is the MO of democrats. It is why they are such pathetic, stupid people....they think people have no agency...they are FORCED to do what ever with no free will or brains.

Useless irrational idiots—all of them.

That’s appalling and you are a monster, but it is quite funny nevertheless.

“DISGUSTING”

What’s disgusting are the flippant comments about this poor woman killing herself. Can’t we set aside politics for a minute and show some respect for the dead? Does everything have to be politicized?

Thanks for saying that. She obviously had other problems.
No matter how goofy they may appear, they were real to her.

I agree 100%. These people either don’t understand suicide, or have no desire to and only wish to exploit the tragedy for personal gain.

That's ridiculous even if it were true, and the increase in having the public employees pay on their premiums had nothing to do with the "union bill" and the unions themselves actually agreed to doing that in an effort to try to keep the bill regarding collective bargaining from passing.

Odd how she puts a sign up about spelling while misusuing capital and lowercase within words.

I think that sign is about Gov. Rick Scott of Florida.

The woman’s family probably put out that story first. It seems that family members of suicide victim are very quick to put the blame on someone or something else.

I had a neighbor whose husband hooked up a hose to the exhaust of his car in the garage and killed himself. The wife claimed that he was distraught because their house was slipping down the hill. She got a new house and married the man’s boss. It seems that when the man retired, she went to work in his office and was carrying on a hot and heavy affair with his former boss and that is why he killed himself.

Very much agree, then add in all the anger and negativity from the left and it probably sent her over the edge. She already had serious problems, it’s a shame that her ‘own’ didn’t ger her help instead of feeding her anxiety.

You’re right.

My comments above were directed toward the liberals exploiting this situation to try to make a political statement, although looking at some other comments I see where you are coming from.

She didn’t have an increase - all of Wisconsin’s teachers are still under contract so very very few of them have seen any talk of increases yet.

Given that the bill hasn’t even been published yet, none of them have seen any impact from it.

The unions are to blame for selling end-of-the-word hyperbole to hype of the membership. Walker hasn’t done anything yet. Really. Nothing.

If a 6% jump in your premium is causing you to be suicidal, you have more problems than Walker can give you.

If anything, it was probably the hype drummed up by the teacher’s unions that unsettled her.

Right on. After watching the behavior for three weeks of these “teachers” I think the whole teacher hiring process needs an overhaul. Number one with a psychology exam, followed by a speling exam, then maybe a polygraph, etc. What a vulgar display of our educational system.

So I guess when people start commiting suicide because Obamacare costs them their insurance, or makes their premiums rise, the left will blame Obama.

Something is not right with the story. She killed herself over a 6% increase???

She's a public school teacher. Maybe she misplaced a decimal point.

That’s harsh but probably true. I tried to become a teacher but my chronic depression made it nearly impossible. Fortunately, I made the decision that it would not be fair to the children if I continued down that path.

Teaching is one of the most emotionally taxing jobs you can get. People don’t realize it until they’ve actually tried it.

You have to be completely fit mentally, emotionally, and also spiritually (another reason why leftist schools fail so miserably). Any weakness spells disaster.

You actually raise a valid point. How much more, even at the 6% contribution to their own health care plan, did these teachers (and the state) have to pay due to the Obamacare increases to overall insurance premiums without so much as a whimper.

I don’t know what the WI teachers’ deal is/was, but in NYS, the retired teachers are reimbursed even their Medicare payments that are withheld from SS. For life !!!
