Here's one way to help destroy Teachers' Unions:
1) Start a YouTube Channel: "Worst Teacher in America."
2) Let kids post surreptitious videos of their teacher's horrible skills.
3) Let people vote on "Worst Teacher."
4) Track "Worst Teacher" listings by State, District, and School.
5) After a year of postings and voting, award the "Worst Teacher in America" a full retirement from the Rose and Milton Friedman Foundation if they agree to never enter a school again.
Maybe we can shame bad teachers out of the profession.
I've pinged Breitbart, since those guys have done well with ACORN, Planned Parenthood, etc. I'll ping the Friedman Foundation next.
Is anyone else out there technically competent to get this ball rolling, even without the retirement plan? We could have a cabal of FReepers manage the YouTube channel.
What say you, brothers and sisters? Can we do some damage?
“Pure Vanity / Activism: Thanks for the forum! I just watched “Waiting for Superman,” and this idea came to me.”
According to one person on this site, it’s practically all the parents fault.
...a pretty tough conclusion to reach after watching Waiting for Superman. I guess we have to believe that those kids and parents are simply actors, and we’re being duped. LOL.
How is video posted by students libel?
Truth is a defense against libel, isn’t it?
Have someone go into a rubber room and videotape.
Seriously?
It’s a great idea but think it through.
In court they can prove they teach “To a Standard”. Not their fault if the kid can’t keep up. They send report cards, Hold Parent Teacher days and sometimes send evaluations.
Those things are your tools for feedback and while they have have 30 some odd kids a year, you only have one.
It would probably go something like that.
Now if you are in constant contact with the teacher and school yet still not getting anywhere then you might be able to make a case. But, in California the best you are going to do is get your child removed from a crappy teacher, who earns on average $97,000 before benefits and have the kid sent to a school of your choice. That’s the law out here.
BTW, the salary is for teachers in the San Francisco Bay Area and the $97,000 is before you kick in for Med/Dent insurance, other cash compensation)$3,000-$9,000), retirement and three months off. They actually get more than three months if you add up all the holidays a kid takes as well.
They are tenured after 3 years and it is impossible, nearly, to get them fired.
Oh, and you pay for junkets they go to.
I was at the Fairmont in San Jose, CA a high end hotel and there was a three day conference for teachers being held there.
Imagine if they came from out of town, they did, and the rooms are $300 per night, they are, and they receive a per diem of $65, they do, and they were served lunch just outside the conference room and on and on and on. Don’t forget airfare, rental and whatever.
That’s the way we are being screwed.
There is no reason to hold a conference for teachers in that hotel.
They could have stayed at the Marriott and saved us some money but they are queens.
Or how about this; Your kid has some challenges learning but the teacher can’t be bothered to stay around after class and give your kid some one on one time.
Why?
Who knows? But he is in his car and on the road before the kids are even loaded in the bus.
It ain’t like it was when I grew up and it ain’t like I support them anymore.
BTW, I personally know of a teacher who molested some girls in High School, went on leave for 3 or 4 years, continued to receive his full salary and benefits before being prosecuted and sent to jail for I don’t know how long.
He was okay with it. His salary and benefits continued because of his tenure.
We already have all that. It’s called the private sector and You Tube. Oh, and a school administrator is a “Principal” not a principle.
We have our first nominee!
With the kids' videos, I'm just looking for public shaming and ridicule to undermine Teachers Unions' every move. The court is public opinion. The truth is cell phone videos.
I heard people on the thread talking about Waiting for Superman. I just ordered it.
“I heard people on the thread talking about Waiting for Superman. I just ordered it.”
Good. It’s absolutely heartbreaking, as most of the kids tracked are condemned to failing public schools (and failing public school teachers)...but it’s critical for White America (assuming you fit that description) to see...or else they’ll keep believing Jesse Jackson and the rest of the Democrats.
I for one do not believe in the Justice Brothers. What I will do is watch it, so I know what I’m talking about when I pass it around.
There are quite a few people I want to share this with.
It’s the internet it will survive a spelling mistake.
It is not only your spelling, it is your grammar as well. See posts 21,23,24,25,26,27,28,30,31 and of course, see above.
