President Obama on Sunday called for gun-rights advocates and proponents of gun control to find common ground two months after the shooting which killed six people and wounded 13 others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).
The Arizona Daily Star published an op-ed by Obama on Sunday calling for stronger restrictions on gun sales to buyers suspected of mental instability.
“A man our Army rejected as unfit for service; a man one of our colleges deemed too unstable for studies; a man apparently bent on violence, was able to walk into a store and buy a gun,” Obama wrote of Jared Loughner, the man accused of shooting Giffords and 19 other people, six fatally.

How about locking up the criminally insane before they kill?
Local law enforcement was already familiar with this man who’d made violent remarks.
If they are going to be ruled “innocent” of their actions because of “insanity”, then they need to be kept at home under lock and key by some court approved GUARDIAN.
If you can’t be held accountable for your actions, then you belong under house arrest or in an institution.
Minors only get so much of a break from the law and even then they can’t live on their own.
After all you can't have Obama saying "don't trust psychiatrists with guns" and then turning around and demanding that "those deemed unsuitible by psychiatrists should not have guns".

Here in Central Florida in the last week, the local affiliates version of the MSM is all a flutter with the "possible" attendance of Giffords to watch her husband participate in what could be the LAST LAUNCH OF THE SPACE SHUTTLE PROGRAM THAT OBAMA KILLED AND WANTS TO "MUDLUMIZE".
What a great way to change the subject from what could possibly be one of the last manned US space flights for who knows how long (due mainly to Obama), NASA now having to rely on Russia for just about everything ISS (International Space Station) related, including US astronauts.
Then there is the subject of Obama's wanting to give mudums "their turn" in space, which means Barry probably giving them (or letting them "borrow or outright steal") second and third stage rocket info and maybe even MIRV tech (won't THAT be fun for Obama's Mudlum Brotherhood buddies to "play with").
There is very little MSM mention so far of the THOUSANDS who will be losing their jobs in Florida, Alabama and Texas ( those bitter GUN and Bible clinging red states) and probably nation wide. It's almost ALL about Giffords.
How very convenient for "I get it" Barry-The-Marxists-Liar and the dems.
So instead of all of the above being discussed on the eve of the LAST SCHEDULED US Space Shuttle launch, we can all be totally distracted by Obama and the leftist MSM turning the whole event into a 24/7, with more than a month to go lead-up, non-stop "gun control" fest.
It will be not unlike the MSM is doing with the almost non-stop "ALL nukes are bad!!" coverage of the Japan earthquake with what seems like just a small portion of those who were killed by being crushed, or the drowning deaths and almost unbelieveable devastation being added to the "mix".
This announcement by Barry IMHO gets out in front of what could be the "end of the US manned space program because of Barry" conversation, to a possible MONTH OR LONGER GUN CONTROL push. Just my humble opinion, but from the Central Florida MSM coverage I've seen so far concerning Giffords "possible" attendance for her husband's mission, you can just about count on it until the shuttle lands and even after that all the way to her possible congressional return..
Barry is just "gettin' the anti-gun ball rollin' EARLY" in case the MSM hasn't gotten the e-mail, fax or tweet yet.
That will give the marxists MSM news and talk show folks a drum to constantly beat to change the subject off of King Barry and the dems NASA = NADA (except for multiple "Global Warming Verification Propaganda Satellite" launches) decree.

I think they ought to really tighten up the background checks for weapons for ATF, FBI, Secret Service, and all other ABC organizations. It is obvious that the government is more lax in letting weapons in the hands of criminals that work for the government.

Once the Obamacare database gets "all hooked up" ( right along with an NCIC check) and everyone's medical and MEDICINAL info is entered, that can then be checked against a list of "medications" deemed "physchologically altering", you can bet the "mentally unstable" list of "diseases" will be GREATLY expanded by the marxist gun-grabbers to ensnare as many folks as possible in the "NO GUNS FOR YOU!!" catagory.
IMHO, keep this in mind when you are at the doctor if Obamacare passes to the "gathering info for the Ocare database" stage.
It might end up that the "medication" given to you , say just with something as innocent to YOU like the:
"Doc. I can't sleep lately because I'm upset and/or A LITTLE worried (ie depressed in Ocare speak) about (fill-in-the-blank)"
.... could one day be "deemed" as a disqualifying diagnosis as a firearms purchaser OR OWNER!!
(Think about all the MANY innocent sounding commercials on TV RIGHT NOW concerning just "sleep problems" medication, let alone all the "TAKE THIS and feel MORE NORMAL and HAPPIER" ones. Those who receive them from their doctor will have them in their Ocare "record")
