President Obama on Sunday called for gun-rights advocates and proponents of gun control to find common ground two months after the shooting which killed six people and wounded 13 others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).
The Arizona Daily Star published an op-ed by Obama on Sunday calling for stronger restrictions on gun sales to buyers suspected of mental instability.
“A man our Army rejected as unfit for service; a man one of our colleges deemed too unstable for studies; a man apparently bent on violence, was able to walk into a store and buy a gun,” Obama wrote of Jared Loughner, the man accused of shooting Giffords and 19 other people, six fatally.

If DUh-bama is looking for compromise and agreement, let’s all agree to prevent DUmocrats who voted for this a$$hat from gun ownership, then publish their names and addresses in all newspapers. Let’s see how long it takes for them to change thier tune when their own know where to look for defenseless victims.
After all, his own gun-control advocates didn’t have a problem publishing names and adresses of concealed carry permit holders in several states with the intended purpose of harassment by the same jackasses pushing for gun control.
The agreement should be : no more guns for democrats.

Well, maybe if the elitist crap of cutting extra slack to someone's relatives (unlike the great unwashed) hadn't come into play, just maybe this guy would have tripped a flag and not been eligible.
Of course, despite the old adage about "It takes one to know one", Democrats are in denial about their own mental incompetence, and aren't about to admit that one of their own is in that state.
O’tay Obie, let’s agree to repeal the NFA of ‘34, the GCA of ‘68, and any other Federal infringiments on my RKBA. If you can’t handle that, let’s compromise (this time) and just repeal half of them. Be reasonable, why dontcha?

Obama and the gun control crowd can take their reasonable gun control and get out of my life...Thats what they can do...
They want to parade Giffords around so bad, like they did Brady after he “recovered” as the new poster child for “Reasonable Gun-Control” it hurts...
The sentiment is there for Giffords, and I think everyone here wishes her a successful recovery...but that is it...
The sentiment of the people is a profound majority of NO’s to any gun control measures (reasonable or not) as a result of this shooting...
First, we read the Second Amendment.
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
Now we read Article 6, Paragraph 2.
"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding."
Now we get to the tricky bit... Go through all US and State laws and remove ALL of them that infringe on that Right.

We already have laws dealing with armed robbery, assault with various weapons, and damage to others property. All "laws" regarding limits on individual carry, ammo types, number of guns owned, arbitrary restrictions and checks on ownership like NICs and "may issue permits", not to mention the idiotic NFA... All must go.
After we've done that, then we can talk about reparations for all of those lives lost or disrupted from illegal prosecutions like David Olfson, Randy Weaver, and even the Branch Davidians.
All the leftist aka progressive gun haters need do is. Name one gun control law that keeps criminals from getting guns. That is all.
