[The Magical Mischief Tour]

Earlier this AM CNN aired an exchange between a reporter stateside on the CNN set and a reporter in Japan.

The reporter in Japan was commenting on how calm and orderly everyone was while waiting in line at stores for water, food and gas.

He said that they had several full gas cans on their truck to get them where they were going and they felt comfortable leaving their vehicle unattended while going inside stores to buy food or to interview people.

He then compared it to his experiences during Katrina when their vehicle was completely looted of gas, food, water and even their personal gear and bags right under their noses.

He then said that the difference between the human response to the situation was almost night and day, the Japanese were very orderly and calm while the Katrina survivors were totally out of control.

I was amazed that CNN let him air such views. While completely truthful they show a side of our population we all know is there, but to speak of it, to even refer to it is viewed as racist...

When I put by blinker on to try and 'merge right' in heavy traffic; and driver, rather than accommodate; instead, speeds up; I always recall, how in Japan; the person 'behind' slows down and politely, lets driver in. Remember that - and seeing 'so many' umbrellas lined up; outside restaurants/shops. . . All 'carriers' know their umbrella will still be there, when they come out.

Things may have changed since then; but I suspect they have not changed 'too' much.

In my 20 business visits to Japan, I was always amazed at how orderly the people are. Some times to a fault by our standards. (except for Saturday afternoon game shows and week ends in Yoyogi Park which makes no sense to this gai jin).

However one day, something "clicked" why. Japan are islands the size of California with livable land mass the size of a much smaller state (after mountains and farm land is subtracted). There are 150,000,000+ people packed into this small space. It's been high density population for centuries. If there was not order and calm, the islands could not survive under such crowded conditions. I think, at this point, it is "genetic" almost.

As we've seen from the NPR /O'Keefe video - they already think we're racist - so telling the truth isn't going to hurt. It might be time to have that REAL discussion on race...

Japan is a homogeneous culture. Almost everyone there is Japanese, therefore we can postulate:

Lack of Diversity == Lack of Crime

Right on. Obama and his buddies want to institute a European type society. But that presupposes a population that has European values. I used to joke that when every German was born, the nurse handed him a rulebook, and he spent his time in the crib, when he wasn't eating or pooping, learning the rules. It takes an enormous amount of social discipline to produce an ordered society. Younger Germans don't have as much of that; you see more litter and graffiti than thirty years ago. But a respect for order is still there.

Few Americans realize HOW Homogeneous the Japanese are. Koreans whose families have lived in Japan for a hundred years are still outsiders. My understanding is hardly any intermarriage at all.

Oh that would NOT have been good...round the clock coverage on CNN and MSDNC with the Justice Brothers calling for Congressional hearings and the reinstatement of the "Fairness" Doctrine!

Maybe this can be traces to the Civil Rights movement, which instilled a deep suspicion of the law. Every law. Law as an invention of the white man.

The Japanese are a very homogeneous population partly because they are extremely racist. No Japanese would ever consider dishonoring his family by committing an unsociable act against another Japanese. I read on another thread they say the word “looting” does not even exist in Japanese.

I wonder if they have the words “rape” and “pillage”, as in how they treated the Chinese and Koreans. How about “brutality” like they treated our POWs.

The Japanese people are behaving now much the way they behaved during the catastrophes that were visited upon their island in 1945. They are very polite to each other and to any guest they have invited to their country.

Where did I get this information, beside my personal observations when I visited the country? I worked with several Japanese MDs back in the ‘70s. I am telling you what they told me.
