No. I don’t see any adverse impact or disparate treatment based on her gender, age, religion or ethnicity. Did I miss something?

I agree. We don't know why she changed careers. It could have been a Christian conversion or just a desire to get into something with (ahem) less occupational risk.
With teachers boinking students and using them for political shields as in Wisconsin, I really don't think a discovery such as this should be a career ender, particularly if she enjoys teaching and was doing a good job.
While she would have to put up with a lot of teasing about this discovery, she could also use it as a teaching opportunity on how decisions, both good and bad, can alter your life and the lives of others.

Can’t blame her for not wanting to endure the slings and arrows from people who don’t respect those who have worked hard for a second chance.

She looks o.k. to me.
If what she did years ago was years ago and she changed her behavior and persoanlity and values - SO WHAT.

Back in 1979 when I was in the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, someone discovered a picture of a woman lieutenant who worked in our office posing naked with her husband in a swingers magazine.
She was promptly discharged from the Marines.

Yep. Choices can have long lasting consequences. What this story shows is how easy it is to fire a non-tenured teacher. If only all administrators were willing to take action before the less effective teachers reached tenure.

Better article...
A Parkway North High School science teacher who informed the school’s principal Friday that she had been involved in the adult-film industry before becoming a teacher has been placed on administrative leave, according to a district news release.
The teacher, Tera Myers, requested the leave after a student approached her about her past, according to the district. She will be paid through the end of the school year.
Parkway, which did not identify the teacher in its statement, said the teacher began working for the district in August 2007 after passing standard background and reference checks.
A spokesman for the district said today that since the teacher’s involvement in the porn industry did not break any laws, it wasn’t revealed in the background checks.
Myers, 38, was suspended in 2006 from a teaching job in Paducah, Ky., according to news reports.
Other teachers and parents stood by her after her past was revealed, but her contract was not renewed because the superintendent feared her past would be a distraction for students, according to KMOV (Channel 4).
The teacher went on to share her story on the Dr. Phil television show before being hired at Parkway.

No. I dont see any adverse impact or disparate treatment based on her gender, age, religion or ethnicity. Did I miss something? No discrimination, possibly wrongful termination. She's a public school employee dismissed for something that was not illegal and happened many years ago. She had no civil service protection?

"Porno on the other hand is apparently unforgivable. "It's the school setting. Porn stars should not be school teachers. Even if she has changed, her legacy follows her. There are many things she can do where her legacy won't be an issue. Teaching kids is not one of them.
