In 2020, the Clean Air Act will prevent 230,000 premature deaths and result in $2 trillion in economic benefits, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported on Tuesday. The EPA report, required by law, assesses the costs and benefits of the 1990 Clean Air Act amendments, which overhauled the countrys premier air-pollution law and included restrictions on ozone and a range of toxic air pollutants. The Clean Air Acts decades-long track record of success has helped millions of Americans live healthier, safer and more productive lives, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson said in a statement.

and hell will freeze over during that time too. :)
Liberal Insanity for those living in an alternate universe.
I see the results of an ambitious math prof trying to prove Einstein’s Relativity Theory.

Last week, there was some jackwagon that posted a picture of a nuclear plant “spewing smoke” as an example of how much greenhouse gas pollution is produced generating energy in America.
The funny double irony is that the jackwagon in question probably thought the “smoke” was actually biproducts of combustion instead of water vapor from a cooling tower,
and the second party of the irony is that water vapor, naturally occurring, makes up 98% of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Libs “Come on you guys, why are you against science!”
Me (SIC) “I am sure articles like this should inspire you to the promise of elite social science skills.”
“ah, I get it, we are talking social science and not real science.”
Oh ye of little faith——of course it will.
:-)
“why are you against science”
Just as an FYI, this is an example of the logical fallacy of the Complex Question. Another is “have you stopped beating your wife?”
The questionS should be
“Are you against science, and if so, why?”
My numbers are just as valid. Lots easier to come up with, too.
Shutting down the EPA will save 500,000 lives and add $10 trillion to the economy.
Getting rid of the EPA, priceless!!!
Kick those commie America haters out of THEIR jobs!!!
has Lisa Jackson ever held a private sector ,real job ?
far as I can tell, she’s never worked OUTSIDE of goobermint.

The stimulus bill added two trillion dollars to the economy too. Look how well that worked out for us. There is only one way to add money to the economy, borrow it. money=debt and debt =money so bragging about adding 2 trillion dollars to the economy is the same thing as bragging about borrowing 2 trillion dollars and adding it to the money supply.
I think the EPA adds mega-Brazillians of dollars to te economy. But why stop there?
On the topic of lives saved, I thought overpopulation was a concern of the libtards and a detriment to the environment. We probably need to put abortion under the control of the EPA to maintain some balance.
Add to the economy? WTF are these people smoking?
Actually, there is merit in saying that getting rid of the EPA would save lives.
The reason that places like Haiti have so many deaths in any disaster is POVERTY.
The reason America has so few deaths in a disaster is WEALTH.
The EPA cannot be anything but a drag on the wealth of our economy and nation, thereby pushing us closer to poverty than to wealth,
which results in more deaths in any disaster.
But, but my ticket says 230,001
I would suggest the exact opposite.
These people at the EPA just pull this stuff out of their ass.
I laughed when I read that. I am surprised someone on FR would post something so stupid. In this part of PA, I see Berwick and TMI let off the steam now and again in my travels. It is really cool to watch. I wonder how many dopes actually know how a Nuke Plant works. They probably have the same idea of pollution that the poster did.
