But this is hardly an isolated incident. There are hundreds being held hostage even now.
Meanwhile the entire coast is full of ships that are used by hijackers and pirates that are being left alone by everyone.
Obama will do NOTHING. For him to do a preemptive strike would be unheard of and against his core values of hurting another Muslim.
That entire coastline should be and could be blockaded by warships - using pirates for target practice.

Hillary has no role in this -- there's nothing she could do with regard to the pirates themselves. That's Obama's problem.
What the State Dept. can do, is be working to assemble a coalition to deal with the pirates. There's something along those lines now -- a legacy of the Bush administration, I guess -- but it needs to be handled much more seriously.
I agree with your earlier assessment -- the pirates need to be wiped from the sea, and their shore bases (which are undoubtedly known) need to be flattened. We know pretty much where they are.

In my 48 years on this planet, I have never seen such an utter disregard for the Constitution, for free enterprise, for Capitalism, for critical longstanding alliances, for America’s standing in the world, as I have with this jerk.

SEAL snipers are not magic, and they can't get all of the bad guys, and certainly not all at once.
All it would do, is guarantee that the hostages will, in fact, be killed.

Did you know that the British used this very tactic back in WWI, for use against U-boats? They called them "decoy ships." Apparently they were somewhat effective.

I think not. They dispatched two in a heartbeat quite nicely in the same situation two years ago freeing the captain of a boat.
There are more than enough snipers be they Rangers, SF, SEALS to put on the boats and deal with these situations if we had the will to do it. And they can do it in tandem.
The problem is we don’t have the administration with the will.
The other options are to pay the ransoms or watch it end as it did.

I have seen some incredible shots. The snipers from SF don’t get to be snipers unless they can do things that would blow your mind. They use rifles that have had one or two shots to sight in, never used before by them.
There are no make up’s .. no second shots. If you miss, you are dropped from the program.
Unless you have witnessed it, you might want to reserve judgment. If you had witnessed it you would not doubt.
There is one keyboard Kommando in this thread, but it isn’t me.
Send in the spooky guys to get all remaining hostages on the ground then carpet bomb the areas the pirates operate out of until we’re out of ammo...then use a few nukes for good measure.
