President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle have not been invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding. The Queen personally invited 40 heads of state, who received the gold-embossed invitations over the weekend to the April 29 wedding of the future king. The Obamas, however, were not among them. But they can take solace in the knowledge that they will be the guests of their very own state visit to the UK in May. There have been suggestions that the state visit – the first for a US President since 2003 – was set up in return for Obama not coming

They will just have the Royal Gardener collect the grass clippings.

The Obamas probably wouldn’t have went unless they had a halal menu anyway.

Churchill’s Mother was American, so under 0bama’s rules, he could’ve been President as well as Prime Minister.

Maybe she could enclose the statue of Winston Churchill with the video.

I’m surprised and I’m not. Generally a lot of invitations are diplomatic ones and the US and England have been friends. The Reagans were invited to Charles and Diana’s, but only she attended. I’ll be nice about the lack of invitation on this one, only to say that C&D had 3,500 guests and Kate and William are only having 600. Gotta draw the line somewhere, I suppose.

I expect my invitation to arrive by the end of the week...

Not surprising, since Zero churlishly sent back a bust of Winston Churchill, who was 100 times the man he is.

Well done, Buckingham Palace!

Not only was boxing up and returning the Churchill bust an insult, but Obama received a very thoughtful gift from Britain on Gordon Brown's first visit. A ornate pen holder carved from the timbers of an anti-slave ship (HMS Gannett). In return Brown received a set of public domain DVDs that were not remastered and retail for less than $20. I STILL cringe at that.

And then there was the rumor of that giving British intel to Russia.

I’m not sure I agree with not inviting the POTUS, yeah Obama is a douche, and he basically insulted Britain every time he came in contact with a British official, Royal or Political, but HM needs to rise above it. The fact is, Obama is the president of our most important ally, and on that basis, he should have been invited, whether he is personally likeable or not...

Well Charles was The Prince of Wales and his marriage would be a State occasion. William's isn't so I guess that is the difference.
Still I would imagine the President and First Lady in year's past would have had an invite. But giving the tackiness of the current First Couple I can understand why they were not invited.

She should also have about a dozen DVD’s cut in the PAL format so Michelle and Barry can give them out as gifts or sell them on Ebay /s

Too bad. The royal couple will miss out on the great gifts that Obama gives out - like autographed portraits of himself and a DVD collection of his best speeches in a format that won’t work in European DVD players. I’ll bet they’re just kicking themselves for the oversight. /sarcasm.

I am in agreement with the Royal couple. I wouldn't like to have the terrorist anti-British affirmative action President at any of my functions either.

Sniff.
Mine arrived today.
I won’t be able to attend however; as I have some major gardening work scheduled that weekend.

Not even Bill & Hillary do the socially unacceptable things Obama and his broad do and Bill would try to nail the queen!

If they invited the anointed one they would have to put up with his up staging the wedding of the couple. Besides he has already slighted the queen and the prime minister and who knows whom else.

Just be sure Harry waits at least a couple of years.
Chances are good that we'll have a better dinner guest and a better ally in office for the next royal wedding.
