MADISON, Wis. (AP) - 1 of the 14 Democratic state senators that fled Wisconsin rather than vote on a bill taking away collective bargaining rights says he fears Republicans may find a way to vote on a key part of the measure without them.
Democratic state Sen. Jon Erpenbach told The Associated Press on Monday that Republicans could attempt to attach the part of the proposal taking away collective bargaining rights to an unrelated bill and pass it Tuesday.

A quorum of 20 is required for the vote. There are only 19 Pubbies. Another body is required.

I wouldn’t take the bait. This would just give Erpenbach the ability to then challenge the bill in the courts as to whether it was “fiscal” related or not. And get an injunction. And tie this up for years.
There is a reason Erpenbach said this. He wants it to happen. Otherwise he’d keep his mouth shut.
Keep the bill as is and make them come back.
In the meantime, start passing things like Voter ID, etc.
Governor Walker should end any further statements about the runaway brides. He and the legislature should simply start without them on Tuesday and start passing the legislation they want to pass.
Just do not have faith that anything worth a damn will happen Tuesday. Or Wed, Thurs, ah, hell if ever. Republicans have very little gonads and always back down somewhat. Watered down bill I suspect. When with all this talk anything real hard gets done .

Nope. This is the whole point of what they are doing. At least it’s what the instigators are really up to; the mob itself is clueless. The left really, really, really wants to obtain images and movies of the “brutal, fascist” state calling out the National Guard to clear the peaceful citizens out of the “people’s house”.
They’re going to try this over and over until they manage to provoke riots. This is all part of kicking off Obama’s 2012 campaign. We’re going to see more and more of this kind of outrage, and the stakes are very high, as this could badly backfire on the Obammunists if they can’t provoke the brutality they so desperately desire.
Quite frankly, our side has to demonstrate by example to the country that we are the peaceful and law-abiding side, and that the leftists are dangerous anarchists that are trying to rule by mob. If we choose to show up as counter-demonstrators, can you not imagine a more riveting affect than to simply hold up our signs and remain completely silent? That should be the right’s tactic: dead silence at our demonstrations. First, the MSM will be forced to report that fact, since it would be so unusual. Second, the contrast of the literally silent majority would be remarkable compared to the nasty noisiness of the leftest mobs.
BTW, it’s obvious that Scott Walker is too smart to fall of the left’s trap in this case. He’s just waiting until the sleet and freezing rain take the starch out the protesters and they go home.

Are you sure? Because on the many, many other threads on this issue, it has been made clear that a quorum is required for this vote. If they’re able to attach parts of the bill to another that doesn’t require a quorum, thay may be able to pass much of it in bits and pieces.
A 2/3 quorum for spending bills, 1/2 for nonspending. When you say “This Vote” you mean the complete spending bill that has some union non-spending stuff attached.
They can pass the non-spending union issues like right to work seperately without any Democrats, as well as voter ID, Illegal Immigration related laws, etc.
I really hate to admit that this jerk lives in my home town—Middleton. I left Wis in 1964 & won’t move back there.

I hope that Walker refuses to pay any of the expenses that these fools have run up in their deliberate actions.
I would also dock them the value of any vehicles the state is paying for—cell phones—internet access—anything I could attach to them with Wisconsin paying the tab.
They should not just stop with the public employee unions. The Repubs should pass full Right-to-Work legislation on Tuesday, along with Voter ID and Constitutional Carry. Make the Dems regret their move.

Passing general Right-to-Work would not be "fiscal", and would also apply to state employees. Besides making the Dems have a fit.
