Madison - During the dueling demonstrations here Saturday on Gov. Scott Walker's budget-repair plan, doctors from various hospitals set up a station near the Capitol to provide notes covering public employees' absences from work.
The bill would strip public unions of most of their collective bargaining rights.

Madison has a history of liberal/bad docs...........Back in the 70's Dr. N O Calloway used to prescribe Quaaludes like they were candy.........The State finally had to shut him down. He was prescribing 75% OF the prescriptions in Madison for methaqualone 60,000 precriptions per month!

Seems to me these Dr's have no problem committing fraud for whatever personal agenda they may have.
This is nothing more than union workers desire to protest against the taxpayers, while being paid on the taxpayer dime.

Since the excuse note doesn’t require an actual exam....what keeps Doctor Ting (from China) from diagnosing his patient via the internet and signing/passing the same letter? We could avoid using local doctors and save tens of millions.
These docs should lose their licences, and any teachers who show up with notes from these doctors should be fired.
Any Doctor that would write a fake note, has propably been writing Fake Bills as well to Medicare. i.e. Scamming Medicare and Insurance Companies.
Something that should be implemented by Wisconsin school districts:
West Bloomfield School District to withhold pay from teachers who abused ‘sick leave’
Published: Wednesday, February 16, 2011
By RONELLE GRIER
Special to The Oakland Press
The absence of 36 teachers from West Bloomfield High School on Tuesday has been deemed a knowing and intentional abuse of sick leave by district officials, who intend to withhold compensation from those who misused their benefits.
The absences occurred the day after a particularly contentious school board meeting, where several parents and educators expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of progress in the teacher contract negotiations.
As the number of sick calls began to mount, the administration moved quickly to provide adequate coverage for all of the affected classrooms. Substitute teachers were called, and administrative employees were brought in from other buildings.
We anticipated that something like this might happen, and we were prepared, said Pamela Zajac, public relations and marketing coordinator for the West Bloomfield School District. Our number one priority was safety, with number two being that learning take place.
According to Zajac, the administration does not consider 36 absences coincidental in a building where the average number of staff members using sick leave on any given day is approximately 12.
Accurate rendering. Thanks!

Anybody else amazed at how much initiative and creativity these bureaucratic houseplants show when it comes to getting OUT of a days work?
I think you just defined part of obamacare.
Nothing will be done about this since the AMA is in obama’s pocket.
Why does a school need a marketing department? They have to go find those football players somewhere, I guess.
Turn about is fair play

This sounds pretty serious to me! I don't know about all of you folks but I think a breakout of an illness like this must be highly contagious to spread so quickly. I think we should insist that the CDC be sent in for a full investigation and have the entire area quarantined!!
Just sayin'
