A new poll shows just over half of likely Republican primary voters question where President Obama was born. What’s up with “birtherism” and why does it have such staying power?
The evidence shows Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961. During the 2008 presidential campaign, Obama released a “Certification of Live Birth,” a document produced by the state of Hawaii certifying the state holds records that a person was born there.
Further, two Hawaiian newspaper announcements from 1961 tell of Obama’s birth. Janice Okubo, a spokeswoman for the Hawaii Department of Health, told the Honolulu Advertiser in July 2009 that such newspaper announcements were based on notifications from the Health Department, which received information directly from hospitals.
The certification of live birth Obama released is legally sufficient documentation to apply for a U.S. passport, but it’s not the same thing as a “long form” birth certificate, called a “Certificate of Live Birth” in Hawaii. That document is issued by hospitals and includes additional information not on the certification.

Regardless of the reasonableness of the suspicions, the issue has been marginalized, and by many on our own side.
When I think through all of the likely outcomes of pursuing the BC issue, none of them end up with Obama leaving office. And Obama doesn't have to do a damn thing to defend himself. Whether he was born here or not, the issue is a loser.
Earth to Jonathan Strong: there has been no long-form certificate shown. Even if there was, Obama may not be an NBC because his father was not a citizen.
Man - the article is titled the “facts” about the birth certificate, and yet it finally has to come out and admit that NOBODY HAS PRODUCED THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE. How can there be “facts” about an original document that has never been revealed? Geez.
They are trying to make “birther” into a perjorative meaning “crazy racist” or something. I don’t consider myself a “birther”, but it is incredibly messed up that the underlying document has never been released and yet they want to paint anyone as a nut who just would like to see the evidence confirming that BHO is a natural born citizen. That’s all - just show us the underlying proof that he meets one of the qualifications to hold his office. It’s the Presidency of the United States for crying out loud.

Media feeds on itself, as the line “It’s good enough to get a passport” has been repeated over and over, as recently as last night by Anderson Cooper.
The reporting on this entire Birth Certificate has taken assumptions continuously repeated as facts.
What if Barack Sr. had become a naturalized US citizen before Obozo’s birth?
But that isn't the ONLY place they received information. They would also receive it from someone registering in person at the DOH.

It’s called a “question begging epithet”.
The left uses it all the time to avoid actually addressing the issue at hand. They denigrate the questioners.

All I've ever heard of was a horribly overcompressed JPEG image of a COLB with so many JPEG artifacts it was impossible to tell if it had been edited or not and which no one every seemed to know exactly where it came from or who released it.

People get high level jobs all the time just by saying they have high grades and that they graduated form the best colleges.

People should refuse to cash their income tax refunds until he produces the long form.
If I were an enterprising reporter in Hawaii, I'd find a few people born there in 1961 and ask them if they can find their birth certificates. That should be simple enough.
“Some theories:
1) Obama’s mom is really is sister while his granddad is really his father with the mother being a early 60’s version of a crack whore.
2) Dad is Frank Marshall Davis
3) Dad is unknown
4) Dad is Malcolm X which would explain why so many people have helped Obama
5) Obama had duel citizenship”

I, personally, think he IS an American (unfortunately) that was born in Hawaii. However, the story of Obama Sr. being daddy was a ruse fabricated by Stanley Dunham to cover his daughters “dating preferences” while a high school senior back in Seattle. I think there is a book out now that investigates this possibility, but I can’t recall the authors name. If anyone knows please post and book title too.
So option “3” would be my guess.
I also heard a story that, at first, some of Zero’s mothers’s girl friends from her high school days were very
chatty about Stanley Ann’s “dating preferences”, back then, but they abruptly stopped talking.

The new Gov. of HI Abercrombie, a close personal friend of Obama Sr. syas he’s looked everywhere and cant find it
What happened to it now? Did Linda Lingle take it with here when she left?
