As Mary Elizabeth Williams wrote earlier this evening over at Salon, several reporters and bloggers have decided to hinge the story of Lara Logans rape on the blond reporters looks. Simone Wilsons LA Weekly post mocks Logans beauty, saying, Egyptian protesters apparently consummated their newfound independence by sexually assaulting the blonde reporter. Consummated? Unconscionable.
The Mofo Politics blog featured a post on February 3rd, saying, OMG if I were her captors and there were no sanctions for doing so? I would totally rape her.

The vile hatred of the Islamic, anti American gangs of Egypt is matched by the cutthroat MSM. Logan was selected by her employer partly based on her looks and was sent willingly into a dangerous situation. Plenty of blame her to go around. She has surely learned from this sad experience. Not so her fellow journalists. Foolish as she was, I certainly feel bad that she had to go through this experience. I wonder how her handlers at CBS feel. She was collateral damage to their story extolling the Islamic revolution.
I agree. The comments here were disturbing. FR ain’t what it used to be...
She is lucky they didn’t stone her for being “raped” or “sexually assaulted.”

BlogSpeak.
Was she actually raped? I know she was sexually assaulted, but that doesn’t necessarily mean rape. Have you seen an article that says she was raped?
Exactly. That is why you don’t tie a steak around your neck and run through the lion cage at the zoo. Same thing. The middle east (with the exeption of Israel) is nothing more than a large primate cage.
Agreed. Regardless of her politics, she did not deserve in any way to be sexually assaulted.
Such comments are disgusting and have no place here.
agreed.
The worse thing on this world is a child molester second being a rapist.
Even in prison this is known and yet we have idiots saying so what, she deserves it???
Why the press, OK so called press send good looking women into these muslim areas or even send blondes into these kind of countries is beyond me.
It just shows me how stupid they are and how they think everything is all rosy with these 3rd world countries.
The GOP and the cowards on talk radio like Hannity will not talk about social issues which then suits the left as they want to destroy our moral code on the social front.
Anyone who has traveled and understands how the street life around the world knows that putting a decent looking western woman into these pits will attract the animals.
Sad as that is, it’s the truth and the left are either naive or stupid or both.
Despicable.
But anytime a Liberal wants to make an insult or a basic point, they almost always reach first to style it in coarse sexual terms.
Hence Anderson Cooper’s first instinct in trying to insult the Tea Party was to use slang for a homosexual sex act.

No. Your statement that rape is “her responsibility” is outrageous.
Forget your echoing of the mindset that if a woman doesn’t live up to the local standards of a “lady,” she’s fair game for rape and sexual assault. (where’s her burka, anyway?)
I agree that it’s foolish to go into these demonstrations armed only with a microphone and covered only with a camera, as the reporters have been doing. I’ve watched in fear of murder and assault against a Western reporter or crew as inevitable.
However, rape and murder and vandalism are the responsibility of the criminals who do the acts. Otherwise, you open the door to claims that poverty, rage, mob mentality are defenses.
Either way, I think we can rule out Anderson Cooper as a suspect.
Her purpose was to flood the airwaves of America with sound bites and video praising Obozo and attempting to lift his image back out of the swirling turd bowl.
Now I don't know about you but if I was a 'stunning blond reporterette' I wouldn't prowl the streets of Philadelphia after dark, let alone Cairo, wearing a deep plunging blouse and Tiffany pearls among the street swine!!
Common sense you don't do that; common sense says you don't dress like that. Now of course many of you will say we should all be free to roam where and when we want. Good luck with that strategy pal!
By the way, she's NOT stunning, and that severe hairline and flat lifeless hair of hers suggest she'll soon be losing those locks.
agreed, no woman deserves to be gang raped.
“Remember Oprah’s “rape rape” idiotic comment...”
Can’t remember because Oprah didn’t say it...it was the “beautiful” Whoopi Goldberg on “The View”.
It is not one world.
For the record, that was Whoopi Goldberg's comment about Roman Polanksi, not Oprah's comment.
