Mubarek has left Cairo in the middle of the night and went to sharm el-sheik. So has the coup started?

NPR is, of course, covering it the same way.

The shouting crowds, which are now said to be enraged? The people openly calling for overthrow? The people chanting about 80 million dead bodies? Well ... those are the peaceful protesters.
The government forces? Which have done very little? Which have repeatedly backed down when pressed by the crowd? Well ... those are the violent supporters of the Mubarak regime.

The media, and Obama, are pushing hard to put a violent, radical Islamic regime in place in Egypt.
Mubarak wants a transition period and says he will step down in Sept. Why is that unacceptable? Why are we stabbing an ally in the back? Why are we kicking out a primary support of the Israeli peace process?

This whole thing stinks. I recognize that Mubarak is not a sweetheart, but I would support him unreservedly against his opposition (meaning: El Baradei, Obama, and the MSM).

I remember the fall of the Shah. This is what that process felt like.

The CNN reporting is absolutely REPREHENSIBLE...

So is 90% of the media. They're looking for big ratings not objective reporting.

... So the US is preparing a new package of assistance to Egyptian opposition groups designed to help with constitutional reform, democratic development and election organizing, State department officials tell TIME. The package is still being formulated, and the officials declined to say how much it would be worth or to which groups it would be directed.

White House officials declined to say whether any of the new money would go directly or indirectly to the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s most prominent Islamic party.

thanx for putting this disaster into one thread; it is so historic (and fluid) it deserved it’s own.

DO the math. That's right.

Egypt has nearly 80 million people.

Probably somewhere between 500,000 and 750,000, being egged on by international media, BBC and CNN reporters in the lead. So that means a little over 1% of the Egyptian People have turned out in the streets.

WHAT DO THE REMAINING 99% who are not out on the streets, think?

CNN does not have the balls to go away from the Tahrir Square to report this aspect. Sure, lots of Egyptians want this to knock off and take the deal the new Vice President under the Constitution offered the nation.

During the Vietnam War, Washington D.C. was FLOODED with hundreds of thousands, maybe even a MILLION against the war. But did that reflect American sentiment truly? It was still something like 70% in support of the war for most of that time.

This is ENTIRELY A SLANTED, ANTI/US/ANTI ISRAELI LEFTIST INTERNATIONAL ELITE MEDIA CREATION, they are trying to fan the flames in the streets of Cairo from Atlanta and London with an eye to turning this country into a Fundamentalist Islamist, and they want the crowd to turn on government buildings and turn to violence; if the crowd does not go into a violent mode, a) the CNN/BBC scumbags wont get their footage they want; and b) they won't get their tactical victory.

The reporting is so abjectly slanted it isnt even worth watching any more. Some patriotic Egyptians should and will turn out into the streets as a counter force, I am sure, and the last thing I would want to be would be a CNN cameraman or reporterette, trying to topple somebody else's nation.

Now CNN is whining and making it "all about us", upset cause one of their camera crews got slightly roughed up.

If some reporters from Al Jazeera came to the USA, and broadcast 24/7 to promote a huge uprising by an alliance of Islamists and Illegal Aliens against a Republican president, don't you think some patriotic Americans would step up and give those idiotic reporters the bum's rush??

Why isn’t any of the MSM talking about this little factoid, as it explains a lot of where Mubarak is coming from. He wants to finish his term in office thru September, to fulfill his legacy and wants to die on Egyptian soil. He is a patriot and nationalist in spite of being a dictator. He is a proud military man. Those military that surround him know he is dying and are trying to fulfill his wishes, protect his repututation as a military man, and let him die with dignity. Obama and his minions know this too, yet they totally pulled the rug out from under this important ally of the U.S. Obama is one cold bastard with no spine. I wonder how much of the general population of Egypt knows Mubarak is dying. See below:

“Monday, 19 July 2010

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is terminally ill, according to US and other Western intelligence agencies, The Washington Times reported on Monday.

Most Western intelligence agencies reportedly estimate that the Egyptian president is dying from terminal cancer in his stomach and pancreas. A Central European intelligence officer reportedly said that Mubarak will probably die within a year, before Egyptian presidential elections in September 2011.

“When I was in Cairo in May, it was interesting. People were mellow about the prospect of him being ill. Everyone understood the end was near; the estimates were 12 to 18 months,” Steven Cook, an Egyptian-affairs specialist at the Council on Foreign Relations, said to The Washington Times.

“The media, and Obama, are pushing hard to put a violent, radical Islamic regime in place in Egypt.”

If Mubarak leaves, what will the crowd do? disperse? What will the government be? Transferred to the Egyptian speaker of the House?

Why support these people but not Iranians? Is 0bama aiming to be caliph?

I agree- it’s really breathtaking to watch all the cables scrambling for the PC narrative each day as events change.

I may have missed it- but so far on both CNN and MSNBC they’ve glossed over the obvious mis-steps and ineptness of this administration...the most they say is “ administration is in a delicate position”...

ppppffffttt...

Here’s an excellent interview with the Egyptian foreign minister. He gives a clear explanation for the reasons of their position.

Of Course around 8:25 he says anytime someone says ‘Do it Now, or immediately - I say Boy, go play somewhere else’.
lol. But, the entire interview is worth a watch.

They are the moving black sheets.

IMO the lack of women in theses demos, in contrast to the Iran demos, is the visible sign of the Islamist dominance of these protests.
