U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said today that he told his daughter to buy a Japanese car--a Toyota Sienna--and that she did so. LaHood's comment came as he announced the results of a 10-month long Department of Transportation study that was undertaken to determine whether electronic systems could have been responsible for reports of sudden acceleration in Toyota vehicles. The study determined that this was not the case. LaHood's statement that

Good grief.
When she loses her job, she can eat her Jap car.
Smart move IMO.
Great choice!
I'm a Honda man, though.
Ray LaHood is the most incompetent official I’ve seen in my life!
what an ASS.
At the height of the “unintended acceleration” witch hunt, he told people NOT to buy Toyotas.
Ten bucks to the first person who can cite a pro-American position rendered by the Obama Administration.
I believe the car is built in the US by US non-union autoworkers.
Hell of a lot better than a damn government motor POS.
Of course they are just like ANY fascist government would be.
My conspiracy theory is that the unions, Obammunists, and the media sponsored the Toyota fiasco in order to discourage Americans from purchasing Toyotas and instead to buy US vehicles.
“Listen, honey... I’ll kick the snot out of Toyota, you know, really drag them through the mud, and of course they’ll have to LOWER their prices to get people back into the showroom, and then voila! That’s when you go and buy that new Sienna!”
I ain’t buying this “There ain’t to problem” BS. Several of those stories had the person not tounching anything with acceleration happening. To blame it on the driver’s smashing the accelerator instead of the brake is not holding water with me.
his positions are basically that we assume the position
I’m not saying it’s bad advice, but it directly contradicts what they were saying in December. These people have absolutely no idea what they’re doing.
At what cost to us; and what cost to Toyota?
Will anyone pay?

Toyota makes awesome cars, and...right here in the good old USA. The Toyota mini-van is the best of the lot with a draw between the Toyota & Honda model mini-vans. Next is Chrysler T&C and Dodge Caravan and....last is Kia Sedona!!! All of them are great vehicles. GM is lost in the crowd, but then again GM has the “Obama” Volt, destined to failure from the gitgo!!! and....GM has another great problem. It’s called Ford Motor Company!!! Ford, with out Obama (the Dummy) was not content to sit with winners, the Ford 150 Series and the Mustang line, so....they came forward with the Fusion and the “new” Taurus and the “Escape”. Sad to say GM (Obama Government Motors) is just about DOA in the USA!!! FORMOCO is kicking butt big time in the good old USA!!! Bye, GM!!!
My opinion from the start.
