Palin defends GOProud participation at CPAC (misleading headline)
Hot Air ^ | 2/7/11 | Morrisey

No great surprise here, really; Palin has quietly backed the end of DADT and expressed support for conservative gays and lesbians in the past. Speaking here with David Brody from the Christian Broadcast Network and excerpted by Breitbart TV, Palin doesn’t endorse GOProud but does defend their attendance at CPAC, and argues that the value of events such as CPAC is to debate the issues and provide as much information as possible to attendees:

I’ve been a Palin supporter up until now. It’s obvious that she’s playing the PC card with the words “healthy debate”. Right vs wrong, good vs evil, goodness vs degeneracy is not “up for debate”. Sarah Palin, someone who acknowledges God as the Maker of the Universe and everything in it, should know that.

Thanks for the info Pissant, until Palin PROVES otherwise, I’m looking for a new candidate.

The complete transcript is here in video by question/answer. Go down about midway of the page and you’ll see the Q/A on CPAC. Click the video play button and listen. Brody has her reponse but doesn’t include his question so you’ll have to click the vid to hear his question.

In Brody’s question he specifically menitons GOPROUD.

Palin thinks GoProud’s involvement with CPAC is acceptable. FReepers were claiming Palin is skipping CPAC because of GoProud’s presence. Palin “refudiated” that argument.

I read Palin’s quote that her absence is due to time. Amazing that she is always busy on the CPAC dates. I wonder if she will attend next year.

Very good points! All of them. You are so right. We need another REAL leader who can turn this around and who has no political baggage that will distract from the task at hand.

So, writing a book is how you gage your candidate? How about her actual accomplishments as an electable politician?

Well, you won't look at her accomplishments anyway. Besides, we were talking about what she "understands." I can't exegete events. I want a candidate to articulate conservativism as well as live it. I guess you don't?

Does she quit when things get rough? (The answer to that is yes.) That's all I need to know.

Wow, I knew you'd get to the "quitter" meme. That tells me you're not wanting to have a serious discussion.

I don't read your supposed pro-Palin bi-weekly newsletter, so I don't know what positions you take in there. I was taking you to task for casting aspersions against Palin supporters here.

Actually, yes, I DO oppose "conservatives" helping to legitimise the imposition of the radical gay agenda onto the American people. Essentially, what you're telling us here and now is that you're a fruity-toot leftie who is voting for Sarah Palin because of a fruity-toot leftie position that she's taking.

I'll ignore the name-calling. You either have selective amnesia, or are too young to remember CLINTON'S imposition of "Don't ask don't tell." EVERY conservative should oppose that subversive doctrine, and support a return to how George Washington treated sodomy in the military: court martial and drum 'em out of the service. If you think that opposing DADT is the same as "imposition of the radical gay agenda", well the kindest thing I can say is that you haven't thought it through.

Name them. Name them right now. Then, start supporting them and stop tearing down Palin and the other candidates.

Actually, old boy, I'm a DeMint fan. You know, the guy who is actually way MORE conservative than Sarah Palin (e.g. DeMint doesn't support LOST, gays in the military, etc.)?

Oh, yeah, DeMint. Who doesn't have a DAY of executive experience, in government or out. Just like Obama. I'll grant DeMint is doing good in the Senate, but that is where he should stay.

And the state-run media rejoices! Another conservative peeled off by use of Alinsky's Rule #4! "It works!" they cheer.

Palin's interview was done on THE CHRISTIAN BROADCAST NETWORK (hardly a "state run media" organization).

I'm seeing a leaning towards "Loonatarianism" with Palin; her dope smoking comment raised an eyebrow awhile back.

Only time will tell (time moves fast when it comes to exposing someone's core beliefs) if Palin is pro or even moderately in favor of buggery. If she tries to play the middle ground, she'll just be another RINO that goes down in history for selling out America.

RE :”There's no such thing as a “conservative” homosexual.

A “conservative” homosexual” is a liberal who wants a tax cut and makes too much to get an Obama-tax credit.

REAL Conservatives don't shop for liberal Federal judges to re-write well established traditional marriage laws.

Yes, and I was clarifying to make a much more important point.

I had a belly-full of that anti-Constitution bilge about “blacks being counted as 3/5ths of a person” that was an absolute lie during the recent ‘backlash’ over the election in 2010 and the reading of the Constitution in the House of Representatives.

As such I cannot in good conscience let stand any ‘not as if they are 3/5ths of a person’ without a thorough deconstruction of the argument, even if meant completely as a joke.

My apologies. My animosity is completely 100% against that argument, not you, or your joke.

It’s obvious that she understands very little about real Conservative thinking.

Why else would she prop up McCain and endorse him as a “real Conservative and Tea Party Patriot” at one of her Arizona rallies? (Which by the way, was instrumental in getting the old traitor reelected.)

In other words, her words say one thing, but her deeds and actions say the opposite. Even after she did all these direct violations, disregarding most thinking Conservatives, she somehow, gets a free pass on what she says and does. Is there some disconnection for some here on this forum, who can’t see or think for themselves?
