On February 9, the Let’s Move! anniversary, the First Lady will deliver a major address focused specifically on the campaign’s efforts to meet the needs of parents. Mrs. Obama will reach out to parents to commend them for the impact they have had on fundamentally shifting the conversation on childhood obesity this year. In a speech hosted by North Point Community Church and Ray of Hope Christian Church at North Point’s congregation in Alpharetta, Georgia, Mrs. Obama will share personal reflections about how she came to this issue, discuss the issues parents deal with, and what has been achieved together.

Also why in their private giving they never gave 1 red cent to a single Christian organization. I would also ask why she has no desire to see the Gospel preached to every creature.
And my last question to her might be this....Why does your husband appoint anti Christian Judges to the Supreme Court, and do you also support his judges.
I don’t defend what Andy Stanley is doing in this situation, but I have no problem with him praying publically for a leader. This is Biblical.
I do have a problem with is the Obamas speaking in his church, both for political and spiritual reasons.
I believe the reasons the Obama’s picked this church is that they are the 4th largest church in the country and the event will be televised on the government web site. This will be a huge “notch” in the belt of Obama agenda.
Fold the UN and give the money to Samaritans Purse or World Vision, they will do far more good.
I have watched this church’s services a number of times online and I believe you are correct. I kept waiting for them to talk about beliefs that I grew up with. When I questioned my grandchildren who attend this church I’m told that my religion is the “old” type and that this is the new...updated version that the young like. No wonder they like it...nothing they do comes under the category of being “wrong”....it’s all about feeling good...that touchy, feely type of “let’s all get along”.......so wasn’t too surprised to hear that Michelle Obama was coming to speak...frankly if I were a young parent I’d be insulted that I had to be lectured to on what my kids should be eating.
All you have to look at is who Barry appointed to the Supreme Court. The evidence was already overwhelming prior to that.
I can find scripture that says we should have nothing to do with people like that. The scripture I do not have at hand but it goes like this...I paraphrase.
If a person in the Church does something that is really out of line, you are to confront this person, after that you tell others, and finally the elders of the Church confront him. After that if he still resists you have nothing more to do with them.
Jesus Loved Children above all others,when a person claims to be Christian and openly supports infanticide, they can not be allowed to remain according to this New Testament Scripture.

As I have been telling you for several days, you are posting hearsay and innuendo.
Since you would not listen to reason, I contacted the church with the following message:
I post frequently at the Free Republic website, where members discuss politics from a conservative perspective. Your church has been in the news there recently regarding the event with First Lady Michelle Obama, and one of the posters there has been claiming that he has first-hand information "from someone in a position to know" at your church that a majority of your church's members voted for President Obama in the last election. Of course I don't believe the person has this "inside information" and have told him that there is no way for a church to gather that kind of information from its members.
Would someone with the authority to address this issue please send me a comment so I may settle this difference of opinion? It is such an odd claim and the poster is so insistent that the only way to either refute or verify his claim is to go directly to an attributable source.

I received the following reply from Cynda Douglas at North Point Ministries:
THAT is totally false information. We have no way of knowing how people voted and we don't want to know. We have never spoken in political tones, and never will. We strategically stay neutral and focused on our Mission, "To Lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ."
Anyone that says that is wrong and doesn't even know us.

While it has been a while, I have helped organize and served as the media spokesman for two FReeps in the Atlanta area, one of Cynthia McKinney, and one of Hillary. While I don’t have much use for Michelle, I just can’t come up with a big enough give-a-damn to put much effort into a FReep of this. Am willing to be convinced I should, but I just don’t see it.
Let me start by saying that I WILL NOT STOP affirming what I know to be true.
Cynda Douglas, in her role as a "goodwill ambasador" (googled her) may not be privy to all the information that the church has.

I have repeated accurately what I heard. I even double-checked with another person today who was there to confirm that I had not misheard. They, without my prompting, confirmed the statement, (finding it especially enlightening with regards to Michelle's visit tomorrow)
As I have said before - I have no axe to grind with North Point. And my 9+ years of Free Republic are a written record that I am not a person who spreads false and malicious information. If you think you are going to win some sort of grudge match with me, friend, you are going to lose because I cannot deny hearing what I heard.

Chunga and PetroniusMaximus, in the interest of moving along, can we leave it at... PM heard “most of North Point voted democratic in 2008” in a meeting and wanted to helpfully present that info here, minus source, as perhaps a reason why Obama has been permitted use our church. Chunga, from what you know of voting privacy, the church, and from speaking to Cynda, found the info to be wrong.
Generally speaking, publicly known voting results could explain an educated guess on North Point voters. If one looked at just Fulton County, the county in which NPCC is located, then the statement PM heard would be spot on as results show 67% voted Democrat and 32% voted Republican. If however, results from neighboring counties (Cherokee, Forsyth, Cobb, Dekalb, Gwinnett) were reviewed, it would seem likely the congregation would be soundly and largely Republican, especially if you also separated South Fulton from North Fulton, as North Fulton would like vote similar to the regions nearby. Looking at the results from all counties would explain why so many conservatives on here say they find like-minded conservatives in their programs at NPCC and would find a statement purporting an Obama majority at church to be insensible.
In my own limited experience at NPCC, politics does not come up. Which brings me to my next response to the topic originator, Reagan69.

I have a daughter living in this area, I have attended this group of churches and I will be watching tomorrow to be sure Ms. Obama DOES NOT become political as the church sent me a form letter stating she would not...so she best watch her P's and Q's...she is not one of my favorite people, the White House made the request to use this church..

NOT "I was told they had a majority of their voters vote for Obama."
You have stated repeatedly that you know that the statement you have made is true. This is something no member of any church can know for certain. You have been shown correspondence from a church representative that they do not have access this information at North Point, and you refuse to source your claim in order refute this correspondence. I don't care what you've been told...you have reached an erroneous conclusion. You are wrong. You are posting hearsay. I don't care how many times you type "I know what I heard," you do not know that the majority of the members of this church voted for Obama and neither does anyone else.
To continue to claim that you know this for a fact is to lie. You should stop now.
Helpfully? This would be an indictment of the church. It isn't my church, but move along? No dice! I'm not interested in moving along. Have a nice Wednesday.
