URGENT: Gunfire heard in Cairo's Tahrir Square as supporters of President Mubarak and anti-government demonstrators clash hours after the embattled leader defiantly said he would serve out his term in office.

I am here, Mom.
Has anybody heard any estimates at all of crowd size today?
It seems like the crowds are small, but that may be just because the TV cameras are limited in their views.
The Army will come in during the night and clear everybody out of the square.
It’s not the “egyptians” turning on each other. The police force (not military) have donned plain clothes and are out stirring up trouble for Mubarak. Those camel’s and horses are literally the police force’s “cavalry”.
I had to think about that for a second. ;-)
I’m for whoever would make the brotherhood of terrorist win.
Queer over there stirring up trouble, send him to iran.
Bingo!
My thinking is that the MB was sending in the camels and the whips to stir up frenzy. Then the army (Mubarak) had no choice but go in with tear gas. That makes the army looks bad after which the MB, backed by Obama, will save the day. Voila, islamic thugocracy established. Mission accomplished.
Let’s not forget that Obama has already said that the MB is a viable partner or some such. Let’s tie him to his words. He’s on record.
some building is on fire, looks like it might be the one the Pro Mubarak lot are on top of.
“Something very prophetic about this whole thing - and not just Egypt, but all the countries surrounding Israel.”
I agree. I was looking up the people groups listed in the prophecy in Psalm 83 and I was shocked.
Lebanon, Jordan, Arabs (in general), to name a few. And it’s interesting to note that Hezbollah has taken over the Lebanese government and that there are protests in Jordan.
King Abdullah II has (I think) been historically friendly to the West and I’m not sure what the Jordanian people think of him now, but if he falls and radicals take over Jordan....all of Israel’s neighbors will be controlled by radicals.
They keep killing each other! Equals GOOD news!
Look at #24, Makes sense. I seem to have seen another post to that effect earlier.
:) Hard to know whether or not to keep one live thread going...
Panicked woman on BBC live now talking about multiple injured people...”we need doctors”..
Are they just nuts chucking petrol bombs off the rooftops.
I'm for whoever is protecting the museums and ancient sites.
Psalm 83[a]
A song. A psalm of Asaph.
1 O God, do not remain silent;
do not turn a deaf ear,
do not stand aloof, O God.
2 See how your enemies growl,
how your foes rear their heads.
3 With cunning they conspire against your people;
they plot against those you cherish.
4 Come, they say, let us destroy them as a nation,
so that Israels name is remembered no more.
5 With one mind they plot together;
they form an alliance against you
6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
of Moab and the Hagrites,
7 Byblos, Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia, with the people of Tyre.
8 Even Assyria has joined them
to reinforce Lots descendants.[b]
9 Do to them as you did to Midian,
as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon,
10 who perished at Endor
and became like dung on the ground.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb,
all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 who said, Let us take possession
of the pasturelands of God.
13 Make them like tumbleweed, my God,
like chaff before the wind.
14 As fire consumes the forest
or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,
15 so pursue them with your tempest
and terrify them with your storm.
16 Cover their faces with shame, LORD,
so that they will seek your name.
17 May they ever be ashamed and dismayed;
may they perish in disgrace.
18 Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD
that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.
He got his.......
“Mubarak may have more support than the media is letting on.”
“You get further with a kind word and a gun, than with a kind word alone” Alphonso Capone
It isn’t so much who has more supporters, it is who has more supporters with GUNS.
I give the edge, so far, to Mubarak. When the tanks and arms are on the other side I will change my opinion.
