It looks like the "civility" piously demanded by elitist moonbats in the wake of the Tucson Massacre has made it to Montana, where a citizen reacts to what he saw onstage at the Missoula Children's Theater:
Now, I realize you play to a mostly liberal audience in Missoula and so, I am sure, felt comfortable in your calling for the beheading of Sarah Palin. I am painfully aware that most in the audience tittered with laughter and clapped because "no one would miss her" but there were some in your audience who took great offense to this "uncivil tone" about another human being.
We are in the midst of a crisis that took place in Tucson where many started pointing fingers at that horrible right wing with all their hatred and targeting and standing for the second amendment and on and on and on. So, here we are in a lovely play with beautiful voices serenading us and we have to hear that it is okay to call for the killing of Sarah Palin because we don't like her and no one would miss her. Unbelievable.
As the Wall Street Journal points out, Missoula is hardly the only place the infantile yet condescending artsy-fartsy community indulges in inappropriate attacks on its perceived enemies in the culture war. The lectures we've been receiving from moonbats about civility in political discourse are like having to listen to a sty full of pigs grunt through dripping mouthfuls of slop about the need for better table manners.
Well, the thought seems to be that leftists feed off each other, in the same manner as kids roughhousing on a playground. As long as they think they are the only ones in the game, they keep trying to outdo each other in their outrageous fantasies.
Publishing what they say and calling them out on it is a reminder that adults are present. It doesn't induce them to grow up, of course, since most of them are past the age where they should have done it already, but it may help with those younger ones looking on who might recognize rational thought when they see it.
Rush does that, and as you noticed, has fun doing it. It's energy well spent, imho.
Btw, you could have just said "joule" instead of "joule-second" up there. I expect you were thinking of "watt-second" at the time.
The parents were clapping and laughing.
Any difference between the Arab street and our own American left?
In Montana?
In New York City, Chicago, San Francisco I would expect this.
But MONTANA?
Home of the Big Sky? Yellowstone Park? Little Big Horn? Hunting, fishing, ranches, cattle, elk?
That Montana?
If we have lost Montana to the crazies can the end be long in coming?
An opinion piece in the Missoulian, regarding the MCT Community Theatre production of The Mikado, prompted a response from MCTs executive director, Michael McGill:
I am sorry that the satirical reference to Sarah Palin has offended some of our patrons. Gilbert & Sullivan were well-known as satirists, addressing the social and cultural issues of their day aristocracy, government, etc.... Some of the lyrics performed in The Mikado around the country today reflect the issues and topics of our time...... In this instance, however, we are talking about an MCT Community Theatre production (not to be confused with a Missoula Childrens Theatre production). Although MCT Community Theatre did not pen the lyrics that were found to be offensive, we have taken the action of removing them from this production. It is my hope that the audiences will appreciate the hard work, artistry and beauty within this MCT Community Theatre production of The Mikado.
Most of the people that commented on the response in the Missoulian said they went to the production for entertainment, not to be a part of some political event. They also said their future attendance and support of the MCT was being reconsidered.
Looks like future tickets to the MCT will be getting a lot easier to obtain.
Lots (too many) liberals have moved to Montana to be near the wolves that they so cherish. I live in Wyoming and it’s kind of funny to hear from some of our ex-California and ex-New York neighbors that a pet dog or cat was killed by coyotes or wolves and then you hear them complaining. It’s always fun to point out to them that it was moonbat envirowhackos from California and New York who sued to get wolves reintroduced to the region around Yellowstone.
does that leave you any doubt that the American Left would actually do it if they acquired unchallenged power?
Given that Tom Brokaw owns a ‘dude’ ranch in Montana nothing surprises me anymore.
The rich do like to remove themselves from the riff raff and where better than in Big Sky Country.
Shortly after the left launched their "civility" campaign, determined as they were to wring some sort of political advantage from the Giffords shooting, I knew they'd have trouble living up to this newfound standard, because they are the most uncivil lot out there. The lefty blogosphere fairly drips with venom. But, as usual, these standards are set to apply to the other guy and not their own.
As the saying goes: "If it weren't for double standards, liberals would have no standards at all".
Capt. Vasili Borodin ("The Hunt for Red October") :
"I will live in Montana. And I will marry a round American woman and raise rabbits, and she will cook them for me. And I will have a pickup truck... maybe even a "recreational vehicle." And drive from state to state. Do they let you do that?"
An apology:

. Some of the lyrics performed in The Mikado around the country

many peopleand we are blessed with passionate, loyal audiences, here in Missoula and around
the world. In this instance, however, we are talking about an MCT Community Theatre
production (not to be confused with a Missoula Childrens Theatre production). Although MCT
Community Theatre did not pen the lyrics that were found to be offensive, we have taken the

I love the Moonbat Song. :)
oops - too quick on the draw...
I might be movin’ to Montana soon
Just to raise me up a crop of
Dental Floss
Raisin’ it up
Waxen it down
In a little white box
That I can sell uptown
By myself I wouldn’t
Have no boss,
But I’d be raisin’ my lonely
Dental Floss
Raisin’ my lonely
Dental Floss
Well I just might grow me some bees
But I’d leave the sweet stuff
To somebody else . . . but then, on the other hand I would
Keep the wax
‘N melt it down
Pluck some Floss
‘N swish it aroun’
I’d have me a crop
An’ it’d be on top (that’s why I’m movin’ to Montana)
Movin’ to Montana soon
Gonna be a Dental Floss tycoon (yes I am)
Movin’ to Montana soon
Gonna be a mennil-toss flykune
I’m pluckin’ the ol’
Dennil Floss
That’s growin’ on the prairie
Pluckin’ the floss!
I plucked all day an’ all nite an’ all
Afternoon . . .
I’m ridin’ a small tiny hoss
(His name is MIGHTY LITTLE)
He’s a good hoss
Even though
He’s a bit dinky to strap a big saddle or
Blanket on anyway
He’s a bit dinky to strap a big saddle or
Blanket on anyway
Any way
I’m pluckin’ the ol’
Dennil Floss
Even if you think it is a little silly, folks
I don’t care if you think it’s silly, folks
I don’t care if you think it’s silly, folks
I’m gonna find me a horse
Just about this big,
An’ ride him all along the border line
With a
Pair of heavy-duty
Zircon encrusted tweezers in my hand
Every other wrangler would say
I was mighty grand
By myself I wouldn’t
Have no boss,
But I’d be raisin’ my lonely
Dental Floss
Raisin’ my lonely
Dental Floss
Raisin’ my lonely
Dental Floss
Well I might
Ride along the border
With my tweezers gleamin’
In the moon-lighty night
And then I’d
Get a cuppa cawfee
‘N give my foot a push . . .
Just me ‘n the pygmy pony
Over by the Dennil Floss Bush
‘N then I might just
Jump back on
An’ ride
Like a cowboy
Into the dawn to Montana
-Frank Zappa
Capt. Borodin (well-played by Sam Neill) would've been a wonderful American citizen.
Gilbert & Sullivan had a sense of nuance & sophistication enough to know not to use actual names of those they satirized.
But what are sophistication & nuance to todays liberal.
The Arts are totally politicized, and within their insular group vitriolic anti-Palin comments are routine and unremarkable. It’s only when they venture outside their bubble that they realize there are people out there who think differently from them and don’t take kindly to mockery. It always comes as a bit of a shock, which is quite funny when you bother to think about it.
man..back in my day Missoula was a western cowboy town with few freaks...gorgeous locale.
1970s
now it looks like the nuts from Kali or the east coast moved in and killed it
have they killed Bozeman and Kalispell too?
Feel free to add more verses if you like....it’s open source...........
