U.S. State Department spokeswoman Ms. Jacobs (missed her first name), speaking on CNN said that the U.S. government is chartering planes to evacuate Americans from Egypt, with the first flights scheduled to depart on Monday.
Jacobs urged those with tickets for commercial flights out of Egypt to use those tickets. She also said the State Dept. was bringing in more consular officials to help Americans in Egypt.
Jacobs asked people to not go to the airport yet. She said details would be announced later today.
Jacobs did not say anything about whether the U.S. embassy and consular offices would also be evacuated.
I’m sorry, but when I first scrolled down I thought that was a picture of Cheech & Chong with friends.
The woman, Laura Murphy Lee, also said she spoke with the U.S. ambassador to Egypt. She said the ambassador was clueless as to how dangerous it is on the streets. She also said the ambassador told her she should be happy that she was safe on a ship.
oh this is just great... TELL THEM in advance what we are doing...
Does Odumbass WANT another hostage crisis ala Jimmuh Carter?
Keep in mind that the diaper-heads release the hostages within SECONDS AFTER Reagan being sworn into office.
I have always believed that he warned them his first official act would be to start bombing one minute after he became president
They should have been out of there already.
I’m sure glad they broadcast this information so everyone could hear it.
I can understand expats not leaving till the last minute, but I hope tourists had the sense to get out before now. It is potentially dangerous there. I don’t understand what people are thinking sometimes. Obama is in over his head, on the other hand.

It might be a good time for the CIA to blow something up in IRAN.
Mr. K #23
Yeah! Isn’t that an M1 Garand the guy on the left is holding?
Good!! IMHO it is inevitable, as the unrest continues, that Americans will become target, verbal at the least. Already the protesters are pointing to the “made in USA” on the tear gas canisters and verbally blasting American support for Mubarak in the past. With 82% of the Egyptians viewing Americans negatively, things can only get worse.
Oh it was, Iran did not play with RR. Muammar Gaddafi treaded that water and quickly got out.
U.S. President Barack Obama voiced support for an "orderly transition" in Egypt that is responsive to the aspirations of Egyptians in phone calls with foreign leaders, the White House said on Sunday.
Obama spoke by phone on Saturday with Saudi King Abdullah, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and on Sunday to British Prime Minister David Cameron.
"During his calls, the president reiterated his focus on opposing violence and calling for restraint; supporting universal rights, including the right to peaceful assembly, association, and speech; and supporting an orderly transition to a government that is responsive to the aspirations of the Egyptian people," the White House said.

A scene that is about to be repeated in many Arab capitals in the near future.
Monday may be a day late, and many hostages short of an evacuation.
And by that I mean Iran released the hostages and Libya’s line in the sand was stepped over and family killed.
We had better have a plan to bug out of Iraq before to long.
I hope he understands who the next driver may be.
Carter 2.0
Obama = Epic Fail
