Editorial: Will Obama Lose Egypt?

Posted 01/28/2011 06:56 PM ET

An Ally Imperiled: What Egyptians are demonstrating against, whether they know it or not, is socialism. What they — and we — could end up with is another Iran. Is President Obama repeating Carter's Shah betrayal?

Revolutions are like fires. They can make life better, or they can destroy.

Three decades ago, Iran — after being saved from Soviet dominance by the U.S. in 1953 — traded in the flawed autocratic rule of the Shah for the bloodthirsty Islamist fanaticism of the Ayatollah Khomeini.

At the time, Jimmy Carter's presidency was, in the name of "human rights," on the side of the Islamists — with U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young going so far as to call Khomeini "some kind of saint."

Does the Obama administration realize the difference between freedom-based revolutions and violent overthrows that will help jihadists?

In 2009, the Egyptian daily Almasry Alyoum reported that President Obama secretly met in Washington that year with representatives of Egypt's jihadist Muslim Brotherhood, the Hamas ally that, while banned, dominates the opposition in the country.

Obama is looking more and more like Jimmy Carter every day. I wonder if he has beefed up security at the U.S. Embassy? If Egypt falls, Jordan will be next...

(YAWN) A-N-O-T-H-E-R FLOP IN THE MIDEAST-----so many, who can count them all? And all financed by trillions in US tax dollars.

SS is going broke and US taxpayers are struggling while US taxpayers are extorted so that US tax dollars pour into these Mideast hellholes.

(Some have opined that the notion of a (cough) "destabilized" Mideast is going to make the $2 Billion foreign aid (to Egypt alone) look like chicken feed. When the Saudis are hit, US taxpayers will pay $7-8 dollar a gallon gas and grocery store shelves will empty as shipping systems fail due to fuel prices. New rulers will take over.........like The Muslim Brotherhood.)

LET'S LOOK AT THE FACTS The game was over years ago when the US was duped into thinking there was this thing called "peace in the Middle East."

The US was conned into appeasing the peace monster by pouring trillions of US dollars into "the region"...... talked into invading Mideast countries with rivers of young blood, which only served to make 100 million Muslims seethe with hatred for the US.

WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN If the US looked after its own interests and simply negotiated with the Saudis, we would have trillions of dollars in the US Treasury, and oil to spare.

Instead the US was conned-----duped by con artists who are too stupid to govern themselves unless the US taxpayer props them up with trillions of tax dollars.

It'll never end------the US government will be conned again, we will throw billions of hard earned tax dollars into this disaster........... even if it sends the US into economic oblivion.

Sorry, forgot this part.

They are protesting for a true shariah based islamic system.

Those morons want, basically, a much worse system than they have now.

I’m sorry, but I don’t think we should send our troops into Egypt. Let the Egyptians solve their own problems.

I wonder if he has beefed up security at the U.S. Embassy?

No, he skipped ahead to appointing Wesley Clarke as the "Oh Crap Czar", he will head the study to decide on who gets to pick the committee to propose a rescue mission...

“..Obama secretly met in Washington that year with representatives of Egypt’s jihadist Muslim Brotherhood, the Hamas ally that, while banned, dominates the opposition in the country.”

So Obama has been training Community Organizers for Egypt.
.
Why not? It worked well in the US. We Americans fell for the carrot hook, line and sinker.

And those “experts” all over TV who don’t think the mullahs might well take over the revolution a la Iran, are a case study of ignorance. Mob psychology defies everything Americans know, but Communists and Islam understand and know how to manipulate them.

.
The commies have a very impressive record of accomplishing their purpose’s through mobs. When you look at the pictures and see little guys with megaphones and other such devises, you know they are taking control. Examine the photos - they tell a lot. Also watch the world press as they publish stories and photos provided by the revolutionaries. The commies and Islamists have a long history of fabricating stories and pics.

The Obama-butt would lose a tic-tac-toe game to a cat.

To even imagine that this piece of animated excrement could outmaneuver Islamists is to expose one as a true idiot.

I don’t watch tv and havn’t been paying attention to Egypt. I thought it was just a typical bellicose mob of kids lighting barrel fires and complaining about high tuition rates or some such nonsense. If egypt is about to be taken over by the kind of creeps currently running iran, this is huge. The rest of the middle east will go like dominoes. Iraq won’t have a prayer. All our efforts in iraq will be for nothing.
