We can increase our own gas and oil reserves to survive the same “74” embargo.

Gee we can? We have been busily shutting down as much domestic oil as we can, all part of the bigger plan. Or could just be plain stupidity, but somehow I don't think so.

We have more oil that Saudi Arabia, ask yourself why we still buy from them. Answer we can't drill, we can't refine, we can't build nuclear, all because of the New Communist Party, otherwise known as the Green movement.

CNN reporter in WH pool discussing that Obama and Clinton aides are torn about how to respond. Don’t want to alienate Mubarek if he remains in power.

And where is CIA/NSA intel and plan "B"? What they have no plan "B"? And the NASA outreach program didn't stop this? Why I am outraged! ( sarc/off )

The Egyptians may be remembering how we bailed after Gulf War I.

Southern Europe will be overwhelm by a Tsunami of refugees trying to escape.

And we're next. . Time for our Congress to pass a law to prevent a flood of radical jihadists entering the US under the guise of 'poor refugees'. . don'tcha want to help them? . the usual bleeding heart stuff. .

We’re talking Egypt here. Do you have to try and dominate every thread with Palin hate?

Gee, they’ve done nothing to save him as the MB is coming for his head, he’s probably a bit alienated already.

I thought Hillary was all about the 3am phone calls. Our top ally in the region in the biggest arab country in the region is hanging by a thread and Obama and Clinton are torn. Well isn’t that special.

Could Freepers who are discussing which Pres contender would handle Egypt the best please start their own thread? This thread should not be about Sarah Palin, whether you support her, or if you don't support her, as a candidate.

Thank you!

When the US refused to back England and France in taking down Nasser back in the 50s it didn't take the Soviet Union a week to move into the former British colonies in the Middle East

Ike screwed the pooch on that one.

That statement earlier from Clinton you could tell she was not happy, Probably Obama wants to do something stupid and she’s trying to stop him.

Where is the United Nations?

Who cares?

Do you really believe that the UN would actually DO anything positive in this situation?

The UN trades in boatloads of hot air; a whole lotta big, empty talk. At the day's end, the UN is a totally impotent, flyweight cabal of appeasers, Islamist bootlickers, and totalitarian shoeshine boys.

The UN is a land where people actually believe that flapping their gums incessantly is a viable method for stopping the baddest of the world's bad guys.

Let me tell you in no uncertain terms: left to the UN, this world will go straight to Hell.

There isn't a single human on this planet who — in any way, shape or form — NEEDS the UN.

Today, I'd trade the UN — ALL of it, from top to bottom — for JUST ONE MAN with the sense, grit, and grim determination of, say, Eliot Ness, or J. Edgar Hoover.

Love 'em or hate 'em; what we need right now are hard-nosed guys willing to lock eyes with Islam, and stare it down with the full force of our own nuclear arsenal behind them.

The CLEAR message MUST be sent to the Islamic world:
"We don't care what you believe, if you try to claim just one more square inch of Israel, or any other presently peaceful nation on this planet, I personally guaran-damn-tee that we'll exchange that turban of yours for a mushroom cloud!"

History PROVES without any shadow of doubt that the ONLY message that gets heard in the Muslim world is the message of imminent DEATH backed up with PROOF of capability to deliver. The ONLY times in history when the Islamist hordes have been quiet, are those times when they have most recently been on the receiving end of overpowering, deadly military force, and it seems to me that their bent is to behave in ways indicating that regularly administered doses of same are needed to ensure that they continue to exist in peaceable demeanor with the civilized world.

NOW all we need is a messenger with the guts to say so, the character to actually MEAN it, and the position to MAKE IT STICK.

Our alternative is Armageddon.

So the Obama administration can't even get ‘consensus’ on their own staff?!

I remember when we valued leadership.
