SOMEWHAT OF A MIXED MESSAGE...

Moment of Truth for U.S.

EXCERPT:

One obvious alternative power center is the Muslim Brotherhood, a party that Mr. Mubarak has banned officially but has unofficially allowed to function in the margins of Egyptian political life, electing its members to parliament without actually claiming to represent the party. As that suggests, the current version of the Brotherhood actually is a fairly tame Islamic force. The danger in any U.S. nod toward the Brotherhood is that it could help usher into power a force that would grow more radical once unshackled.

Another possibility is that the Egyptian army could seize power. The U.S. might like the stability and pro-Western bent army leaders would offer, and relations between the U.S. and Egyptian military are close. Indeed, senior Egyptian army officers were visiting the Pentagon when Friday’s unrest broke out, and cut off their visit to head home.

Said the pragmatic Democrat circa 2003.

Hussein was paying the family of suicide bombers and training terrorists. With that said, in hindsight that is always 50/50, I wish we'd left him there. Hussein knew the only way to deal with extremists was fear. He managed to keep them in line for 20 years.

I hope and pray just like you do. But I am rather skeptical about the results you showed, just as I am skeptical anytime polls are taken and people claim, “studies show” something to be true. Not least because around 20 - 25 % of the population of Egypt is Coptic Orthodox Christian, who would say they support those things soley to avoid the wrath of fanatic terrorists somewhere. Add in atheist minorites and the percentage of Muslims in their population to begin with gets even smaller. Put it this way, if those results are really true, that is terrible raised to the 20th power.

An obvious phenomenon depicted on the map, on the right, is that Islam dominates the northern regions, and cuts through several African countries such as Nigeria, Chad, Sudan, and Ethiopia. In each and every country where there is religious division, there is also conflict of some sort. The map also displays how Islamic influence in East Africa is surging downwards towards the south, where it has dissected Kenya, Tanzania, and Mozambique.

I daresay China is only interested to the extent that their investments are involved. China will do business with a theocracy - the religious practices of their clientelle doesn’t interest them IMO.

I believe Coptics are only a persecuted 9 (nine) percent of the population these days but stand to be corrected.

That is most likely true. As you know, Im guessing, the Hardline Muslims who are trying to get control of Arab govts consider the largely atheist, Confusion and Buddhist Chinese to be pagans who are actually even higher on ther hate totem pole than Christians and Jews, so genuine alliances between them and Chinese govt will never happen. And of course, if oil cannot make it out of Arabia to America because the govts in charge, it cant make it to China either and China wont tolerate that for a microsecond.

That could be true, it could be anywhere from 5 or less to 25 percent or more but we will never know the real truth about that and so we can only really make guesses.

This isn’t going away...and American TV news looks to be on their weekend holiday. We are getting re-run news-—lol

Maybe they will bring in their third-tier news analysts tomorrow.

If anyone sees any official response from Israel, please post.
