President Obama is likely to announce "major initiatives" on energy and climate change in his State of the Union address, Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) said Monday.
Kerry, the informal leader of the Senate effort to pass legislation to rein in global warming, encouraged the president to announce ambitious plans on energy and climate policy during Tuesday's speech, and said he expected Obama to do so.
"I hope that the president tomorrow, in his SOTU address, will embrace major initiatives — I expect him to," Kerry said on WBUR radio in reference to energy and climate legislation.

These are classic tactics used by hyper agressive organizers. The time to ask for what you would otherwise never get is when the factors in place for you to succeed are at their worst. Ask for more ACORN funding when ACORN is under indictment. Ask for more stimulus when the last two have ruined our economy. Ask for more money for teachers when they have already broken the backs of every municipality and have accomplished making our kids dumber than ever. Ask for more investment in green technologies and cutting edge high tech blither blather when the last taxpayer funded green technology firms went belly up and stole the cash.
Do it now while everyone has to treat you nicely with respect. Do it now while the media wouldn't dare call you out on it. If they do it only makes them look crazy, petty, and uncivil.
The SOTU speech is a fight in his eyes. He's using the bully pulpit to bring a big frickin propaganda gun. If anyone even raises an eyebrow they're gonna get beaten to a pulp. Why do you think they want to sit next to every dissenting view?
Hmmm...this global warming stuff has been exposed to have been darn fraudulent but it sure doesn’t keep those who are heavily invested in renewable energy from trying to reap and see the “green” that they plan to pull out of everyone’s pockets to line their own!
