Larson (Conn-1) just said repeal would deny “equal protection of the laws.”

The guy illustrates why these clowns howled at the public reading of the Constitution.

"Larson (Conn-1) just said repeal would deny “equal protection of the laws.”

The "equal protection argument" for Progressives is second only to the "for the common good, and to help those less fortunate".

IMHO, I am equally protected against paying for someone else's well-being and existence, just as much as they are responsible for their own situation. I don't buy the "poor, unfortunate, pre-existing condition" argument....at all.

If I choose a lifestyle to destroy myself, and then want everyone else to pay for my treatment; that's bullshit. If I or one of my family has a problem, WE will take care of it.

"From each, according to his abilities, and to each according to his needs" is NOT America, folks.

I’m not sure if it is good or not. I need to read it a bit more.

I am not happy that, instead of repealing ObamaCare, the (R) are trying to install a plan of their own.

I don’t think that FedGov has the authority or power to regulate health care at the national level.

The fact of the matter is that the USA can ill-afford such a costly bill, but the concept of “something for nothing” socialized healthcare appeals to a vast swathe of the population who are incapable of seeing past the smoke and mirrors attraction of public healthcare, and who are taken in by bleeding-heart lefty nonsense.

My country has a paltry population of 4 million, yet our public health service is broke- the only thing that keeps it ticking over is the ACC system which prevents costs from skyrocketing (you can’t sue in NZ if a surgeon were to injure you for example; ACC levies from car road tax, petrol tax, and employer contributions are used to pay your working wage while you recover)

Still even here the smart people fork out that bit extra for private healthcare.

Here’s what America has to look forward to if Obamacare isn’t done in:

* A degradation of service and quality of healthcare.
* Increased taxes.
* Insurance costs will increase as insurers must cover themselves from possible litigation.
* The number of doctors and surgeons will massively decrease. My father works in the orthopaedic surgery industry and said that Obama has stated that “no surgeon should earn more than $100k USD” - well they could easily earn that working in Europe, NZ, Australia, Britain, Japan etc. IT NEEDS TO BE HAMMERED HOME TO THE SUPPORTERS OF THIS BILL THAT SURGEONS AND DOCTORS WILL GO WHERE THE MONEY IS. $100k a year is barely enough for a private practice to cover its insurance bill.

“that’s why I solicited freeper help. It should be a RULE that the bills should be understandable”

Here’s a piece from a Ron Paul site that explains the ‘Haircut’ issue - getting rid of the 7.5% threshhold on income before one can declared medical deductions - iow, it’s reaching further back than Obamacare, if I’m reading it correctly:

If 26 States [a majority of the States] have officially declared Obamacare to be unconstitutional and have rejected it . . .

Thus the pitfalls of Amendment XVII. Of those 26 states, six of them had two Senators who voted in favor of Pelosi-ReidCare. Senators are supposed to represent their states - NOT outside interests such as national political parties. That's twelve Senators right there that sold out their own states.

Michigan
Pennsylvania
Washington
Wisconsin
North Dakota

North Dakota will have replaced both Democrat Senators and their Democrat Congresscritter by 2012. Two down in 2010, and Conrad announced retirement for 2012.

100% Conversion in 2 years!

Drudge now says that the House has now voted to repeal Obamacare.

No link yet. He just put it up.

OH, yes I do!

I wish we could have had some effect on the so-called 'pro-life' Dems and killed the bill then.

But at least they're all sitting at home now and not in the hallowed halls of Congress. ;)

Unfortunately for your pocket book, emergency rooms are legally required to treat anyone who comes in. Who do you think pays for this?

So true. They didn’t think we were serious. Now that they’re cooling their heels at home maybe they can rethink. :)
