He’s got the conservative credentials

No he doesn't. Perry simply folds when conservatives scream loud enough. He's never demonstrated a conservative core during his career in politics. He's an establishment Republican who can competently recite conservative verse when he wants to. He once stated that an Arizona-style immigration bill would be wrong for Texas. How conservative is that?

no real baggage

Oh? How 'bout the fact that he began life as a Democrat who flipped R after sticking his finger in the wind? Or the fact that he nearly mandated that every girl in the state of Texas be forced to take Gardasil? Ever hear of the Trans Texas Corridor project? There's three of his bags for you, right there.

tons of experience

I'll grant you that he's got lots of experience in holding on to the Governorship of Texas. Besides that, I can't say that he's done anything but stay out of the way of business in this state. He's done little to secure our portion of the southern border, and hasn't cracked down on illegals in Texas.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'll admit that he got my vote in the last two elections. That was because Texans weren't given a real conservative to vote for. Even Sarah Palin was forced to endorse him, given the alternatives.

If it came down to a fight between Obama and Perry, I'd give the Governor my vote without a second's hesitation, but I wouldn't expect Perry to do more as president than keep us in a holding pattern. He will not advance the patriotic, conservative cause if he becomes president.

"Anybody but Palin"

Suck it up, Tonto! What are you going to do when she is the most successful president in 230+ years of American history? What a tool!

Savvy=sorry assed liar politician, something that Barack Obama is. Nothing to be proud of.

So, we are as bad as our opponents. Tea Party be damned.

I will remember that and point it out to the people I know.

Thanks, I get it now.

Perry has reached, some think surpassed, his level of competency, IMO...and I'm as Texan as they come.

I don't want him to run for POTUS.

No RINOs, no Congresscritters, no one who has not held elective office — That takes care of most of them. Still leaning Palin.

Sarah Palin. The only politician who walks the walk and talks the talk.

PALIN

I like Pence okay but he can be put-offish (he has “people”). Daniels is superb.

Sarah Palin. Being in Texas I wonder if the ticket in 2012 will be Palin/Perry?

I've been predicting that combination all along. What is your thinking regarding that choice?

I would vote for either of the GOP sisters, Palin or Bachmann. However, I think that the ticket will be Pence/Bachmann. I will be voting GOP, come hell or high water.
