In a move to counter the House Republicans planned vote to repeal President Barack Obamas health care law this week, the White House on Tuesday released data showing that half of all Americans under the age of 65 have pre-existing conditions and could be denied coverage if reform is weakened.
Republicans quickly dismissed the study as a political stunt.
The Department of Health and Human Services estimates that from 50 million to 129 million Americans have some type of pre-existing condition and would be protected by the Affordable Care Act when it takes full effect in 2014. Those numbers represent between 19 percent and 50 percent of Americans younger than 65.
Obamas health care overhaul prevents insurance companies from denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
They know it can’t pass the Senate or Obama’s veto, this is now just about making the Republicans look dumb for even trying.
If half of all Americans have pre-existing conditions, then half of us would not have been able to buy health insurance under the pre-Obamacare rules. Was that the case?
LOGIC is your FRIEND!!
EVERYONE has pre-existing health conditions.
so we introduce a CLEAN seperate bill to address that SPECIFIC issue.
AND—we are ALL terminal!
The question is how important the symbolism is and which way the people will take a symbolic gesture.
Personally I have no idea.
Gee, that lasted long.
Agreed. NOW would be a very good time for the Republicans to effectively address the incorrect assertion that they “have no alternatives” by promoting this:

[half of all Americans under the age of 65 have pre-existing conditions]
If that is true, the healthcare is doomed anyway.
It sounds like the MSM is trying to stymie it as much as the White House.
Zero’s Goebells machine spewing and regurgitating their Socialist propaganda still thinks we’re morons and can’t figure out their duplicity. These mind-numbed Liberal robots still choose to ignore the November 2nd message that we sent DC.
As I see it Obamacare denies the right to quality of life, Liberty, and the persuit of happiness to all no matter its intent. Road to Hell is paved with such intent.
Get the Federal government the “H” out of our lives for other than the Founders original design, and purpose.
Metaphor the Fed.
Does "conflict of interest" mean anything anymore?
Gee, those are pretty big error bars on that "estimate" there, Homer. An "estimate" like that looks to me more like spaghetti on a wall. Someone is just trying to get to a big number somehow.
And how many of those "Americans" are actually citizens? Let's discuss.
This is scare tactics, and a foretaste of what the 'Rats have got lined up for us, as they work to hooraw as many people into voting for their sorry-ass, traitorous excuse for a political party.
People are like cars, once you drive them out of the showroom it is downhill after that. I have many pre existings and haven’t been turned down yet.
Actually there are a couple of tactics that the GOP and Bohner can use to FORCE OholyO to sign the repeal. This is part of the pre-spin by the White House to prevent Bohner from attaching the Repeal to the Federal Budget - with out which the Fed shuts down completely. He can also attach it to the riasing of the Debt celing or any other supplimentary bills that fund the government.
Bohner has complete access to those Raisins of Barrys, and he has control of the House investigations which I imagine will start with the DOJ... yea, OholyO does not yet get that he is between a rock and a hard place, and he loses no matter what.
Frankly I hope he holds out and the governmnet shuts down. At this point, it might actually be the best thing for we the people.
Don’t expect Bohner to run this the same way Newt did in his failure in 1994 (or was it 96? Need more coffee). No, I think some sincere lessons were learned out of that.
