I hate to see anyone die , its very sad to see it happen , but I sure hope nothing really bad happens , but come on people you think we are going thru another 9-11 this is about votes nothing more , and thats the sad part about. How many times has this happen before how about colorado , ft hood , and the list can go on and on I don’t think oklahoma city got this much press , this whole thing is way over blown . may the lord watch over the families that lost love ones and may the lord grant a quick recovery to the ones that was not killed.Amen
I caught the last 10 minutes of Obama’s speech and noticed he made no effort to quell the outburst of applause, whistling, cheers, and shout-outs - nothing to quiet the crowd into the solemnity the memorial warranted.
Along with the 2012 campaign slogan “Together we Thrive”, I got the impression this was more about promoting Obama than memorializing those killed.

.
Obama didn’t make this much to-do after the massacre at Ft. Hood when his Muslim bro slaughted 12 service men and women including a pregnant woman.
This has been swept under the rug!
Has that monster even been brought to trial?
WILL he be?
.
I don't even know what to say.
The GHOULS that refer to themselves as democrats never miss an opportunity to turn a tragedy into a DNC telethon. I'll wager the dolts who vote for these feinds are too thick to realize how sick it is to seek a political opportunity at a memorial for the victims.
Who's bright idea was it to have T-shirts?
Who gives out T-shirts at a memorial service? Did people touch the hem of anointed ones robe as he arrived? BTW has anyone even told us who the others are that got shot?
My president went to the Tucson Memorial and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!
You know, I watched the whole thing.
I came away from it...disturbed. From the initial “this is how we do it here” Indian ceremony at the start of the service, through many of the talks...it was like a weird politicing, campaigning, a cheerleading, celebration regarding the people killed and wounded.
I understand celebrating their lives.
But you know, no disrespect intended to those killed and injured, but it was 6 dead and 15 wounded.
We had 41 US Military casualties in Afghanistan in December...why wasn’t there a nationally televised memorial for those heroes?
When the terrible killings took place at Ft. Hood...the response from this administration was much slower, and the entire thing was much more played down IMHO from a support the troops and community perspective.
Here there has been a rush to get on the TV and for Obama to somehow show he is “presidential.”.
This had all the ear marks of not letting a crisis go to waste...in other words...a whole lot of politics going on and it disturbed me...quite frankly almost made me sick.
Obama is trying to use thi event on the national and world scene and use those dead and injured to revive a failed and horrible Presidency and that’s what made me I guess the most upset. And it was so obvious to me.
Come on...a “slogan” for a memorial service?
Also the talk about our “great leaders” and how wonderful it was for them to come and lead us in this hour of grief. I swear, I thought I was in North Korea or something with such talk. The American people in any community across this land are perfectly capable of mourning their losses and picking up and moving on without all of that...and certainly without “needing” some kind of great leader to come and give a campaign speech.
The truth is, all of his talk about unification and reaching across the ailse is absolutely hollow after how he has governed the last two years. He is a liar and a hypocrit of the worst order and is only speaking this way now because of the lamblasting he and his party took in the election.
Almost ALL of the vitriol and politicing of this issue has come from his side...but you would never know that from his speech.
Anyhow, just had to get this off my chest.
I missed the Obama Responds to Palin speech.
I am a bit confused. I didn’t watch the ‘memorial rally’ last night but got my info from this thread beginning at about 30 minutes from the beginning. Based on many (most) of the posts, I got the impression that there were people in the group holding signs leading for applause, cheers and other inappropriate behavior. Now listening to commentary this morning I get a completely different impression.
Regarding guns and all standard-capacity magazines:
Hes coming to take them away, Ha-ha!
Hes coming to take them away!
THAT is what he meant by the wildly-cheered code words in his Tucson speech: We should be willing to challenge old assumptions in order to lessen the prospects of violence in the future. aka Gun BANS!
