Nearly six in 10 Americans say the country's heated political rhetoric is not to blame for the Tucson shooting rampage that left six dead and critically wounded U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, according to a CBS News poll. In the wake of the shooting, much focus has been put on the harsh tone of politics in Washington and around the country, particularly after a contentious midterm election. Rhetoric and imagery from both Republicans and Democrats have included gun-related metaphors, but the majority of the country isn't connecting the shooting to politics.

I was aware that he recently passed a background check to possess a gun, My thought was simply that if he had been prosecuted for his earlier threats or evaluated and found mentally unfit previously, he might not have been on the streets in the first place and the prosecutions and/or mental instability would have prevented him from passing the background check.
Like you, I also beleive in God’s protection and the God given right of self defense.

Probably get the same result if you asked: “Is Rush Limbaugh responsible for keeping Prince Albert in a can?”

Hope his Wednesday performance remains perfunctory and doesn’t degenerate into a Wellstone moment. On second thought ...

Even a loaded CBS poll of 673 "adults" shows the dims on shaky ground.
I'd like to see a Ras poll of likely voters since likely voters are the only people who count.

42% of Democrats think Palin pulled the trigger.

Where is the poll asking if the anti-war protests were political motivated since they all stopped after Obama getting elected? Cindy Sheehan tried and got savaged by the media, remember that??

And this is a CBS poll, so deduct 10 from the liberal side, and add 10 to the conservative side.

If it looks like a gun site, it is one. Hence all those liberals driving Mercedes Benz’s are using a loaded weapon.
