Within an hour of Saturday's tragic shooting in Arizona, the Twittersphere had quickly seized on a map put out by Sarah Palin's political action committee last year that had gun-sight images over the congressional districts of House Democrats she wanted to win for the GOP in 2010.
Among her targets: Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, who was critically wounded by a gunman Saturday. His motives, authorities say, are not fully known. But friends of the suspect, Jared Loughner, have suggested that he had held a grudge for at least three years against Giffords dating back to when he met her in 2007.
Still, some believe that incendiary rhetoric like Palin's bears some responsibility in the tragedy. Giffords herself had previously raised concerns about Palin's map: "The way that she has it depicted has the cross hairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that, they have got to realize there are consequences to that action."

In any case, it was proved Palin had nothing to do with this. He was going after Gifford since 2007 before there was a Palin or Tea Party.
The leftist police chief also reported the nutcase had other death threats on other people before, yet the his department never flagged the guy so he couldn't get a gun.
Now the chief ( who should step down ) wants to blame all right people with nothing regarding is missed personal obligation regarding this crack pot.
Other than Fox News, no network would sell her the time (not even Fox broadcast.)
You seem to have a series problem.
THANK you!
This is a non-issue, trumped up for political gain by the Left. According to none other than Bob Beckel, BOTH political parties have been using targets on maps for YEARS. The target on the Palin map was over Giffords’ DISTRICT, not over HER. It should have been obvious that the DISTRICT was targeted for Republican takeover. Note that the only guns I have ever shot in my life have been cap guns and squirt guns, and I was able to get it. What’s the matter with these other people?
Troll, begone for good.
And don’t come back.
I have limited experience with gun scopes, my weapons don’t have them. OK, I’ll give you your point on the symbol giving the impression to the public of a gun scope.
I don’t buy the rest of your logic regarding Palin, but that’s OK. I haven’t made up my mind on her yet myself, for different reasons than yours.
