From what we know about Jared Lee Loughner, there's nothing to suggest his politics could be characterized as "Tea Party" or even conservative.
Mainly he fits the category known as "whack job," but that won't stop Democrats from figuring out ways to exploit this.

The Lefty Media is pinning their hopes on the “mystery man”. In hopes he is a Tea Party person involved in it. Probably just a guy like the one they hoped was Tea Party in the video of the Times Square attack. The perp there turned out to be another crazed Muzzie.

I agree. I couldn’t get on FR yesterday after the shootings. So I was checking other sites like NPR, Yahoo, etc. The immediate comments were anti-Palin, anti-Tea Party, etc. The response was immediate and overwhelming.
Good. Let’s see some of that here. Dopenik needs to be removed.
How would the liberal media report this shooting if the shooter were a Muslim? How would the government be handling the flow of info to the public if the shooter were a Muslim? If one thinks that the answer to both questions would resemble how they handled the Fort Hood shooting and every other event where a Muslim has killed and American citizen, then maybe those in the government and the media should accept a bit of the blame for the atmosphere that causes this kind of thing to happen in the first place. Maybe they should govern for the people instead of select groups and then just report the truth.
The Sheriff is trying to distract from the fact that they knew Loughner was a nut and a danger to the community long before yesterday’s attack.

Sheriff Dupnik knew this nut was a danger to the community and didn’t take any actions to stop him. Dupnik is trying to save his own skin.

(.)bozo was late to the press conference yesterday just as the news of whom the shooter was began to break. My sense is he had to change up his rhetoric which he intended to use. That said, he will send out his minions now to portray the Right, Tea Parties, Talk Radio and the need for gun control for why this happened. Never let a crisis go to waste when you are a marxist.
And so it begins...for Obama’s re-election campaign. He needs race to be the main theme to take the focus off of his failed fundamental transformation of America.
Eric Holder told us that we “are a nation of cowards” when it comes to race. I’m sure Bill Ayres and Pat Hayden have some forged “writings” that have been planted linking them to the shooter to exacerbate race relations.
Its almost as if the left is reading from a script.
I’m not suggesting a conspiracy, only a preconditioned response to an act of violence against a democrat. I also wonder how much the sheriff is influencing the Giffords family. The fact that her father immediately blamed the tea party is downright bizarre.

Fox this morning is being “cautious” about endorsing claims by DHS concerning an “American Renaissance” connection to the shooter. In fact they stated they had talked with the owner and he examined his records and found nothing connected to Jared Loughner.

And how long did it take 0bama to respond when his fellow muslim murdered twice as many soldiers at the Army base?
I saw a post on the web- maybe here - that speculated that Loughner was actually following the Judge and he was the target.
Except it seems that Loughner pulled out the gun and shot directly at Gifford.
