Bitter politics of Arizona loom over shooting (Again the Rats blame Tea Party and not Olbermanns)
reuters ^ | 1/8/2011 | Reuters

Even before the shooting of a congresswoman on Saturday, the state of Arizona was in the throes of a convulsive political year that had come to symbolize a bitter partisan divide across much of America.

The motives of the alleged shooter, who wounded Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and killed six people in Tucson, are not known and they may not be political.

But after an acrimonious election in November that followed months of bitter exchanges, politics looms large in the wake of the shooting and a local sheriff pointedly blamed hateful political rhetoric for inciting violence.

"When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government," Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik told a news conference.

"The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous. And, unfortunately, Arizona I think has become sort of the capital. We have become the Mecca for prejudice and bigotry."

Sarah, Timothy McVeigh was an atheist too...but that somehow got lost in the narrative back then, and he got painted as a “religious” nutjob. Hopefully the presence of the internet this time around will allow us to keep the truth from getting buried.

We can’t let them do that again. And we need to point out loud and long what ghoulish opportunism it is to try and use the actions of an unhinged individual to smear you political opponents.

Say, I hate to sound like a broken record here, but dog-gone-it, this needs to be repeated:

"Loughner's profile listed Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels's "The Communist Manifesto" and Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf" among his favorite books."

Hugely important point: the shooter loves both International Socialism and National Socialism -- but who is the mainstream media (bless their lying hearts) going to blame: Conservatives.

Also note: the US Army has now reported the shooter was rejected for military service in 2008.
That stopped original claims that this fellow was a veteran of Afghanistan!

It just amazes me that these idiots are blaming Beck, Palin and pretty much anyone who isn’t a gender confused vegetarian. Meanwhile you can go to theblaze.com and find videos of leftist “leaders” calling for violent revolution in the streets.

This “shooter” pure and simple is a Lib, which means he’s automatically impaired. Add to that the drugs, and alcohol he consumed according to his “friends” we’ve been reading about today, and he becomes further impaired to the point his brains, the human control center unless one is homo are useless.

For the Liberal media, or Libs in general to blame Sarah Palin, Conservatives, The Tea Party, Mother Goose, Donald Duck, and Goofy is purely out of desperation for the perpetuation of their rejected agenda.

You mean vitriol like this?

The left always uses tragedies as a way of promoting their sick, depraved agenda, that is what they do. ANYONE and I mean ANYONE that somehow connects Sarah Palin to the actions of that madman are even sicker then the shooter himself. I don’t even bother listening to those idiots, I just remember they are in the minority, they don’t represent the majority of Americans who KNOW that she had NOTHING to do with this, but the media will continue their BS but anyone with 2 brain cells won’t listen to their nonsense..no one listens to pravda, I mean the media anymore

"Sarah, Timothy McVeigh was an atheist too...but that somehow got lost in the narrative back then . . . "

"Agnostic" might be more accurate than "atheist", but he was NOT an evangelical Christian, as is routinely claimed in letters-to-the-editor to this day. McVeigh was a lapsed Catholic, in fact.

It got "lost in the narrative" because it was inconvenient for the media's prescribed worldview.

Bill Ayers (1968): "Kill all the rich people! Break up their cars and apartments! Bring the revolution home, kill your parents - that's where it's really at!" 1969 - Ayers attempted to extort money ($20,000) from the Vietnam Moratorium Committee. When a member of the Moratorium group asked Bill Ayers what he really wanted, "To kill all rich people," Ayers responded. When another peace activist pointed out that Ayers himself came from wealth, he answered: "Bring the war home. Kill your parents." 1969 (December 27 to 31) – Weathermen hold a “War Council” meeting in Flint, MI. Bernardine Dohrn comments about the Charles Manson-led "Sharon Tate - LaBianca Murders" “Dig It! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, and then they put a fork in pig Tate's belly! Wild!"

This is who the left are, nothing more then sick, deranged individuals. Did anyone blame the environments for the whack job who shot up the Discovery Channel..NO, he was a loon, just like this guy is a complete and utter loon..like I said earlier, anyone who blames Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck or the tea party for what this crazed gunman did are just as sick or maybe even sicker then the actual shooter

Worth remembering too are the adjectives they ask readers to accept by putting them just before the word “conservative”:
arch-, staunch-, right-wing-, ultra-right-, die-hard-, etc.
They only give the liver-treat reward “moderate” to the good Republicans willing to sit-up-and-beg.
Descriptive adjectives for Democrats? Democrats are just Democrats .....

Piven was calling for violent revolution within the last week.

Andy Stern is the one who said “If we can’t use the power of persuasion, we’ll use the persuasion of power”.

I haven’t heard anyone say this yet, but I think if Giffords were a Republican, these shootings would have happened anyway. And they might have happened sooner. This was not a partisan crime. Giffords was a target of convenience by someone with severe mental issues.

as long as they take the abuse they will be abused...grow some nutz and call them out- the libs lied to try and change the story during the health care vote (remember? the N-word was cascading down as clyburn walked from his office)...

Yep, certain adjectives and qualifiers are routinely applied to Republicans, whereas their counterparts are rarely applied to Democrats.

My sister and brother-in-law are liberals who work for the Seattle Times (actually, he is now retired). They are both exemplary people, but have those very biases you mention. And they don't like criticism of the media at all. They do have a sense of entitlement to be the shapers of thought, and resent any competition. And they do not really believe they have any biases. It is a very strong part of their self-image.

We need to be firm about this point: there is no evidence -none - that the shooter was a Tea Party member or sympathizer. What we do know, as absolute fact, is that some of the views expressed on his website were utterly incompatible with the Tea Party movement.
