The Senate voted 67-28 to pass a cloture motion, seemingly enough to assure final ratification. Eleven Republicans joined with 56 Democrats to pass the cloture motion.
It will take 67 votes to ratify the New Start pact, which would give the Obama administration its top foreign policy goal in the lame-duck session.
Among Republicans announcing their support were Richard G. Lugar of Indiana, George V. Voinovich of Ohio, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker of Tennessee, Johnny Isakson of Georgia, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Thad Cochran of Mississippi, and Bob Bennett of Utah. All voted for cloture.

Good-bye republic. It was nice knowing you.
The United States will be the only entity on the planet that will abide by it’s promises under this treaty.
One of these days we’re going to wake up to a China with an invincible nuclear shield demanding we kiss it’s ass.
Obama has accomplished the possible...
BOTH Tennessee Senators? What the hell is wrong with you people?
They told Voinovich they would make him cry again if he didn't vote for it.
A couple of months too late for that.
Target all of them. Bennett’s a lame duck.
I’d like to see Moocowski forced to change parties. Just push the bytch out altogether. Alexander and Corker are a disappointment and TN can do better. And Johnny Isaacson? WTH happened to him? Indiana can do a lot better than Lugar. He’s been drifting left for a long time now. I don’t know what can be done about the ME sisters and Brown. That we have any senators from the NE is a miracle. And Thad Cochran? Sheesh. Disgusting. Primary that SOB out as soon as possible.
Hey, that Scott Brown guy has just worked out great, hasn’t he?
And one of the lost her last primary.
Why would ANY Republican want to boost Barack Obama’s 2012 election campaign by burnishing his foreign policy credentials? It makes no sense at all. Sheer lunacy.
At least two Democrats voted against cloture (or didn’t vote). Does anyone have names?
Remember, Murkowski said that it was her job to help Obama succeed...because that is good for America.
LLS
They had a chance to strip her of her seniority when she aanounced her write-in. It would have wrecked her argument that she could deliver $$$ for Alaska. But McConnell chose to appease her instead, hopeing she would vote with them over lame duck. Appeasement NEVER EVER works.
Evidently we just LOVE RINOS!!!!
We can keep the (R) without really MEANING it.
Have you seen our new Governor?
Concerning #14—You two need to get together. Remember to put me on the new ping list.
That picture is equal parts enthralling and creepy.

Lindsey is not needed this time. They only need 67. So he can get cover. I think they take turns getting Obama enough votes.
