Thanks for the Tax Cut! (Larry David feels guilty about his fortune)

Thanks for the Tax Cut!
By LARRY DAVID
Published: December 20, 2010

THERE is a God! It passed! The Bush tax cuts have been extended two years for the upper bracketeers, of which I am a proud member, thank you very much. I’m the last person in the world I’d want to be beside, but I am beside myself! This is a life changer, I tell you. A life changer!

To begin with, I was planning a trip to Cabo with my kids for Christmas vacation. We were going to fly coach, but now with the money I’m saving in taxes, I’m going to splurge and bump myself up to first class. First class! Somebody told me they serve warm nuts up there, and call you “mister.” I might not get off the plane!

I’m also going to call the hotel and get another room so I don’t have to sleep on a cot in the kids’ room. Don’t get me wrong — I love a good cot. The problem is they tend to take up a lot of room, and it’s getting a little tougher in my advancing years to fold it up and drag it to the closet. I mean, I’d do it if I had to, but guess what? I don’t! Not with this windfall coming my way. Now I get to have my own room with a king-sized bed. And who knows, maybe I’ll even get some fancy bottled water from the minibar. This is shaping up to be the best vacation I’ve had in years.

**SNIP**

Life was good, and now it’s even better. Thank you, Republicans. And a special thank you to President Obama and the Democrats. I didn’t know you cared.

When was the last time Larry David flew commercial, let alone coach. Sleep on a cot in the kids room? This is a slap to the little people kind of like Babs telling people to turn down the air. David’s wife was a character in State of Fear.

“Otherwise, he’ll remain a putz. “

Larry, go put a million bucks in a Salvation Army kettle.

Go ahead. Try it.

It’s tax deductible!

He won’t do it ... see, you can’t fix ‘putz’.

This is the same mentality that gave us the phrase "jobless recovery."

What it means is "I've got mine. Ska-rew you."

There's a cult amongst the new breed of Wall Streeters which glorifies taking the supposedly spoiled n' dumb prep-school alums to the poorhouse (through smart trading) because they purportedly have more money than sense.

I can't help but wonder if the tax collectors vierw the likes of Larry David in the same way: as people with more money than sense. Warren Buffet may bemoan the fact that his own tax rate is lower than that of his secretary, but he still uses the dodges.

The wealthy whiners on the left who want to take more from us who do the work that keeps this country moving could give as much as they wan, BUT DON'T!

In Massachusetts they have some sort of higher bracket option for those who wish to pay in a little more to help the state. I understand that very few do and statistics are hard to come by. I do know from the last elections disclosures that Kerry doesn't opt for thee higher bracket. Neither does Bawney Fwank, nor did Teddy.

Note: this was posted 12/21/2010. Thanks Libloather. He also didn't want a show on Fox because "I don't like their politics" -- when in fact, Fox was at that time the one network news which *didn't have any politics*. He's usually pretty funny, but not here:
