A military jury has convicted an Army doctor who disobeyed orders to deploy to Afghanistan because he questions President Obama's eligibility for office.

Whatever else Obama is, he’s not a moron. Only a moron would throw away the advantage of having the Birthers stirred up and getting into the media as an embarrassment to sane conservatives.
Even if this Birther nonsense were true, why on earth would you think that the President of the United States can't find somebody capable of creating a convincing forgery? That's Black Ops 101 stuff.
Even more ludicrously, this “dual citizens can’t be President” argument would give every two-bit dictator on earth a veto over our Presidential elections (they could just make the winner a citizen of Crapholistan with the stroke of a pen).
Obviously, reporting for duty in Afghanistan is not an unlawful act. Lakin would be out of luck even if the Birther foolishness somehow turned out to be true.
It wasn't irrelevant. Madison said place is the most CERTAIN criterion. That doesn't mean it's the ONLY criterion, especially not in terms of natural born citizenship, which is what he was talking about when he says birthright in the very next sentence.
A goal?? This is too funny. Now we're going to hold Lakin accountable for a goal instead of reality. Whatevah.
Good point. McCain may have been too much of a Mr. Nice Guy to raise the issue, but Hillary would have roasted Obama alive if there had actually been a fire (as opposed to just a lot of smoke) with which to do it.
President Stitch Lips got 'shellacked' in this last election (his own words). This idea that so-called 'birthers' help Democrats and hurts Republicans is not borne out in real life. It's not a winning issue for the resident of the White House.
I disagree.
Dobson had TWO WEEKS notice to deploy. Not two hours, not two days.
He was obviously already on a list for call out.
He was already in country for a few days when the mass casualty event took place.
He is already a doctor, trained as a military physician, in emergency tyoe situations.
What was he not prepared for?
We also find he had to leave a two year old child behind.
Join the crowd, pal.
His wife is in the service as well and got a Bronze Star. Great. But what we have is two parents who are already deployed and on a list to be deployed. That’s their choice.
I contend that neither of the circumstance they testified to had a direct cause and effect relationship to Lakin not deploying. There were no extraordinary circumstances they faced that are not faced by thousands and thousands already in the service or in the reserves.
To me, it was piling on. And still irrelevant.
Lakin was a Lt. Colonel, not Gen. Petraeus for God’s sake.
Let's keep in mind that President Stitch Lips did not release his jpg of an alleged birth certificate until AFTER Hillary conceded the primary. By the time it was realized the BC was most likely fraudulent, it was too late for Hillary. She would have been roasted alive as a sour-grapes racist. She was bought out with the SecState position. McCain was the recipient of a quid-pro-quo, albeit, unnecessary resolution declaring him eligible for office. He couldn't challenge the Kenyan without fear of being branded ineligible himself.
As I noted above, this stupid Birther argument gives every foreign government veto power over out Presidential elections. Any two-bit tinhorn tyrant -- Kim Jong (Mentally)Il, Mahmoud Imanutjob, any of them -- could make the President-elect "ineligible" with the stroke of a pen.
The Great Pumpkin will rise up out of the pumpkin patch with the proof that he was born in Kenya!
Hasn’t Mr. Issa said he will not investigate Obama but “others”?
Sorry, but it's an absurd argument. Being born to a foreign national who does not immigrate to the United States bequeaths a real and reasonable birthright of foreign citizenship to a child. It would be recognized legitimately through international law and/or by treaty. Stitch Lips was not born a British-Kenyan citizen by some arbitrary declaration in a random foreign country.
Are we talking about Michelle L. Obama?? She's already said Kenya was her husband's home country.
If he was never given the order, how could he have disobeyed it? Your argument reminds me of a joke about a defense lawyer in a rental-car damage case. First, he told the court that his client had never rented the car in question. Second, he told the court that the car was already damaged when his client took possession. Third, he told the court that the car was in perfect condition when his client returned it.
Just don't ask a Romney question. :)
Republicans won an historical landslide. How many of the candidates ran on birtherism? None. The truth is, there were a couple that got branded with the birtherism label, but immediately took steps to publicly distance themselves from the issue. They wanted nothing to do with it.
Sounds crystal clear to me, we only need to know if a Presidential candidate is a Natural Born Citizen to fulfill the requirements in the Constitution, Obama has never done that to the degree of certainty that has persuaded almost half of our country that believes that he is not eligible.
and all it would take is his original birth certificate....
Read what I wrote. Lakin was not ordered to deploy. He disobeyed other orders, one of which was to report to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, not Afghanistan. I apologize if English is your second language.
