The Obama administration scored a legal victory Friday when a federal appeals court refused to block federal climate regulations slated to kick in next month.
State and industry challengers opposing the Environmental Protection Agencys climate regulations had asked the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia to halt the rules while the massive court battle plays out, but the court wasnt convinced.
A host of states, industry groups and free-market groups are suing EPA over its regulations aimed at curbing greenhouse gases from automobiles and large industrial sources like power plants and oil refineries, as well as the so-called endangerment finding underpinning the rules.
David Doniger, a Natural Resources Defense Council attorney representing environmental groups in the case, said the decision is a sign that the industry and state case against the regulations is pretty flimsy.

All of the above industries should simply shut down and go home and to watch how quick those judges and the EPA disappear from history.
Well, if electricity goes up too much, looks like I’ll have to heat by burning wood.
Well not everybody can even do that. Burn wood...shame. Make sure you have your fireplace/stove fitted with one of those newfangled pollution control devices.
I don’t run the heat or or use a dryer. I save over 1500 KW each month. I can’t afford electricity rates now! It’s getting down to the 20’s tonight. You can bet the fire will be burning especially tomorrow morning. I don’t know how you folks up north can take this weather OR afford it!
Typical liberal. Courts don't make American law, our legislators do.
We need to end the Imperial Executive and return lawmaking to its Constitutional bounds.
1. De-certify all public sector unions
2. Cut funding to all federal agencies (except defense) by 30%
3. Oversight hearings for all agencies
4. Legislation to curtail the power of regulators
REPUBLICANS — DEFUND THE DAMN EPA!!!!!!
I second that. Let’s see how much mischief the EPA can cause when they don’t have any operating funds.
We use the AC most of the year here in S Texas. I rarely use the heat. I have a fireplace and we do have a fire on really cold nights. I have some little electric space heaters for bathroom or kitchen, so I don’t need to turn the heat up so high. My gas heating bill runs $20 in summer and $50 in winter.
My electric bill when the AC is running, well don’t ask, it is huge. I budget and cut out everything else in order to afford my AC. We have allergies and need it to keep the indoors air clean and free of mold and allergens.
We decided if rates go up too high we will put a window unit AC in a couple of rooms and we just won’t use the central AC. The problem with that is people will break in at those windows where the window unit AC is. That has been in the local news a lot lately. Plus the AC units are being stolen too. We have 7 - 8 months here where we use the AC at least part of the day.
At least you have the option of burning wood to heat.
I haven’t figured out how to use a fire to run my A/C in Houston.
A one week moratorium on production should make the our federal enemy think again about strong-arming us.
I’ve had those in most of the places I’ve worked and lived in Africa and the Far East but never paid a bill or saw how much juice they draw.
Are they really efficient? I know they can keep a zone cold as meat locker if you want. Seems like the duct losses would be enough of a savings to make a difference.
Abolish the EPA. Forever.

“Who is John Galt?
The judges should be investigated.
