To the United States, Julian Assange may now be Public Enemy Number One. Some American politicians have even called for his execution.
But less than a year ago, the founder of WikiLeaks was officially entertained at a US Embassy cocktail party by one of the very diplomats whose secrets he would soon spill to the world.
Mr Assange's site had already published dozens of leaks embarrassing to the US, including secret Guantanamo Bay detainee handling manuals and the full emails of Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate. The US State Department condemned the manuals' publication as "a criminal act."

The only people who are real upset with the leaks are the elitist government officials who hate to be spotlighted in a negative way. A few things might be damaging to national security. But more so are the revelations damaging to the power brokers who think they own us.
And the elitists are the only ones who are calling for Assange’s head on a platter. I find it amusing how the elitists are scrambling to cover their ass.
I think this is a way for Obama to gain a fake access of the internet.
BO’s WikiLeaks about the names, families and GPS locations of informants on his Terrorist Pals in the Middle East caused many of our allies in the Middle East to be murdered. BO’s WikiLeaks of the secret communications of our Troops and allies put their lives at risk.
So, revealing the names of people who have helped U.S. troops find and kill terrorists is spotlighting elitists in a negative way?
I’m no elite, and I want this guy dead. I certainly want the little weasel who gave him the files to be dead.
These guys have taken actions that will cost the lives of those who have helped us in Iraq and Afghanistan, innocent people who want their countries to be free instead of being an arm of Al Qaida. This stuff makes it harder to fight the war and that means we’re in longer and will lose more troops.
So yeah, I want Julian Assange dead. And yeah, if Rep. Steve King is an elitist, then I guess every elected official is. And I guess if Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity want the guy dead or in prison it’s because they were embarassed by State Department cables. And since Obama and his hand-picked elitist stooges like Holder and Big Sis are just shrugging over this, I guess your theory sucks from start to finish.
Was this only meeting where he got his choice of material to publish?
How much was he paid?
Did he receive any other benefits for him to later distribute the materials?
Given he was the guest f an Icelandic MP, either they didn’t care he was there (or wanted him there), or, they had no idea who he was. That is what the MP thinks... More amateur hour in the Obama Administration.

How did Wikileaks obtain “the full emails of Sarah Palin?” I understand that the released documents were obtained via a US military individual from US intelligence sources. If so, this means that a US intelligence agency obtained, recorded, and retained “the full emails of Sarah Palin.” This is clearly illegal and most likely would have been done for political purposes. So, it is also very corrupt, a high crime and misdemeanor, an impeachable offense.
WikiLeaks obtained Sarah Palin’s emails the same way WikiLeaks obtained all of the leaks about Gitmo, our informants in Afghanistan and our allies in the Middle East thru leaks by BO cohorts.
The WikiLeaker of Palin’s email was a BO campaign worker in Knoxville TN.

You misunderstand what the picture is. Politicians aren’t elitists, they are puppets (desk clerks) for the elitists.
When elitists want something done it is done quietly and without the public even being aware that it was done. This is for show and tell not for action.
John Assange is not a threat to the elitists. If he was he would have had a heart attack (from an added spice in his dinner), a unfortunate car accident or be killed in an armed robbery shootout as an innocent bystander.

LOL Do you seriously think it is a high crime for which someone will go to prison or even be fined? No, someone might silently disappear if they didn’t turn over the full file of her emails but go to prison? Never happen.
Surprising that the gov’t system does not keep these records in a place that requires any entry or file access to be logged in the system. I know that in defense business any download of classified material needs to have a record of the download or copying of any file.
Just another bloated out of control bureaucracy. These hacks were attempting to justify their positions by pretending to be ‘working’ with ole Julian...

And it’s the elites of *both* parties are the ones that are calling for his trials for treason (which is ironic, considering he’s an Australian.)
Is this “terrorism”? Only insofar as it reveals how we as a nation *really* behave on the world stage - and how much we as a populace are “protected” from knowledge of what is being done in our name.
The publications of these documents certainly seems to terrorize the Plutocrats. Perhaps they are afraid we will find out how much we’ve been played - fobbed off with political rhetoric designed to arouse our fear and our patriotism, which covers up the crimes by which they have robbed us blind over the past years.
Bottom line is I don’t trust the government. We expect transparency and truth. Not gotcha kind of secrets.
Is Assange a dirtbag? Yes. Is our government trustworthy? NO!
