The left sees history's fist coming. Again.
American Thinker ^ | December 13, 2010 | James Lewis

Posted on 12/13/2010 12:56:02 AM PST by neverdem

Want to know why the Democrats in Congress are mumbling "f*** the president"?  Want to know why the Cancun mobsters are demanding world power for yesterday's climate fascism?

This is Dunkirk, folks.  It's the Battles of Midway and Gettysburg rolled into one.  This is the watershed moment in history.

This is where the Evil Empire gets its comeuppance.

The next few years may be the most historic ones in our lives.

The left is at the very peak of its power since the Evil Empire fell in 1991, with Obama occupying the White House today, surrounded by his commissars.  The left is still pushing the climate scam because it's the biggest totalitarian power-grab in history, and they can't let go of it -- even if nobody believes Algore anymore.  Trillions of dollars are teetering on the edge, like the Chicago Climate Exchange, and leftists are all rushing in to keep it from screaming down into the steep canyon.  This is right out of a Road Runner cartoon.

But the biggest threat the left sees is Governor Sarah Palin.  And it's not just the American left -- the Euro-lefties hate Governor Palin in the same way they still go foaming at the mouth over Maggie Thatcher.  The U.N. corruptocrats fear her already.  Right now, the worldwide left is feeling a lot more scared than we think.

Here's why:

(a) Palin is Reaganesque beyond any politician we have seen in two decades.  When the Soviet Empire was defeated, it was by three Western conviction leaders: Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and John Paul II.

(b) Palin is charismatic far beyond Obama's sputtering appeal.  You can tell Obama's not happy whenever he makes that prune face, like he's biting into a lemon.  Obama looks sour whenever he is not being cheered and adored by the masses.  He needs that adulation to prop up his fragile ego.  Obama can't hide his sour face when things turn bad.

In the Kremlin today, you can bet they are video-screening Obama's prune face frame by frame to see how Our Hero is doing.  And Putin is laughing at the photos.  Putin is a Russian nationalist, and he doesn't want Obama to be the new Lenin.  If anybody is going to be the new Lenin, Putin wants it to be Putin.

(c) Sarah Palin is a Reagan-style constitutionalist.  The hard left understands that, even though they pretend not to.  They know perfectly well who they are and what they are.  The hard left consists of wannabe totalitarians.  You can tell by the fear they show at the prospect of losing power.

George Washington welcomed his chance to leave the presidency and go home, but these people live for the dream of power.  They are obsessed with it.  That's why the Democrats finally showed their rage and anger against Obama in public.  You think only one Congress critter mumbled "f*** the president" to himself?  They've all been saying it over and over again.  They've been waking up at night, screaming it out loud.  Watch all the little cartoon thought bubbles coming from the Democrats in D.C. and you see one giant "f*** the president!"  And Obama knows it.

That's why we need a constitutionalist president again -- because the lust for power is a common human failure.  Obama is not the first.  He is the average power-hungry pol as demonstrated by the last six thousand years of history.  Political parasites have been the bane of human existence since Egypt and Sumer.

We need to see our leaders walking away from power over and over again.  Harry Truman went home and was glad to leave the snake pit of Washington, D.C. behind.  Jimmy Carter didn't want to give up power.  And Obama is going to keep popping up like a bad Jimmy puppet for decades to come.

To the left, we are seeing a perfect replay of the historic crash of the Soviet Union.  They've seen this movie before.

Remember that the Soviet Empire crumbled of its own inner contradictions.  All the West did was show its character and determination.

Remember also that Reagan, John Paul, and Maggie Thatcher were hit by assassination attempts.  Reagan and John Paul were badly wounded and lived with the pain for the rest of their lives.  Thatcher had a lucky escape.  John Paul's assassination plot was traced directly to the KGB; Reagan's and Thatcher's would-be assassins were also radical leftists.

In the end, the Soviet Empire turned out to be 91 percent Potemkin Village and 9 percent real.  But it took real character and courage to blow that house down.

Reagan, Thatcher, and John Paul saw some very bad times, but they didn't give up.

That's the lesson for all conservatives.

Learn it or lose it.  Learn from your own history.

The other side is feeling desperate.  All their power amounts to a false front.

This is the time for conservatives to go for victory.

You don't fool me or anyone else here. You're as full of crap as a Christmas goose, and if you weren't so funny you'd turn my stomach. But you are funny, so I'll stop pestering you, and just laugh at your convoluted whiney 4th grade schoolgirl bullsh*t.

Merry Christmas. That is, if you can read this on your poor, broken down cell-phone...

....LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you didn't want to read her books, or look up her positions yourself, you should have asked straight up.

1. She calls herself a Reagan conservative, which means she believes in a strong military, strong conservative social morality, and a strong pro free enterprise economic system. She speaks from these positions all the time.

Other specific positions she takes:
1. She is pro-limited government. She would like to break the present big government of the Obamacrats.
2. She is strongly anti-illegal immigration and wants to seal the border.
3. She is strongly pro-Israel.
She is heavily against the cap and tax proposals, and other crazy environmental policies.
4. She believes in American exceptionalism.
5. She wants a very aggressive energy policy to use current US resources (including nuclear power) to help maintain our economic supremacy.

These are a few of the things she believes. If you want a comprehensive list with links, ping Onyx, I think she can help.

Put Palin on the ticket against any Democrat and 99.999% of Freepers will vote for her. I know I would.

But Freepers are a subset of activist conservatives, who are a subset of self described conservatives, who are a subset of non-liberals, who are a subset of the electorate at large.

A candidate can get the overwhelming endorsement of Free Republic, and still fail dismally when all those millions of non-Freepers get to vote. Just ask President Fred Thompson about that.

SARAH PALIN'S PING LIST

"What I am saying is she has yet to give me any idea of her policy proposals."

What we have seen is support for the Law of the Sea Treaty and the premise behind Cap and Trade when she was Governor. She also supported things like the Bridge to Nowhere before the Congress effectively killed it by cutting off funding. She supported the Bush backed TARP proposal and even blamed the 2008 election defeat on the GOP Congress for opposing it. If we are to believe that she is all of a sudden a constitutional conservative, where are the statements repudiating these earlier stands?

"You needn’t worry about a Palin administration pushing any type of energy taxes or Cap and Trade."

Why not, because she is singing the right tune now that it has become unpopular? By this logic we could argue that we needn't worry that a Romney administration would push for mandates in the health care arena.

"And it’s a little thing, to many, to crush a young man’s athletic dreams, but you might add her support of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 to your list."

As with most issues, her position on education is a mixed bag. On the plus side she supports school choice and values education. On the minus side she has been a big spender on education including the funding of "early education". This is a scheme dear to the heart of the left here in Vermont to get children into the public school system at an earlier age. The studies researched by free market opposition to such schemes show no real educational benefit, merely greater costs. This would explain why the Alaska NEA welcomed McCain's pick of Sarah Palin.

"Fully fund K-12 and support early funding of education

My budget includes fully funding the “K through 12” foundation formula. In addition, I’ve included more than $200 million in new dollars to cover the increased retirement costs for local school districts, so that more local school district dollars get into the classroom, where the money belongs. We’re facing a potential $10 billion PERS/TRS retirement plan shortfall that affects local schools. Our $200 million dollar line item for school districts is part of the half BILLION dollar proposal to help th districts, local governments and the state alleviate the pension plan burden while we work with the Legislature on a long-term solution. I’ve also committed to help provide local school districts with more predictability, for better planning by supporting “early funding of education.” I’ll introduce a separate education appropriation bill and ask that it’s passed. Our local school districts deserve to know what they have to work with early enough for them to create efficiencies through planning" Source: 2007 State of the State Address to 24th Alaska Legislature Jan 17, 2007

Sadly, Palin is NOT Reaganesque to the larger part of the mushy independent middle that chooses our presidents. Sorry, but that’s the truth.

The mushy independent middle don't choose our presidents. How can they? They can't think for themselves, they follow the crowd. Trust me, Sarah Palin will own the crowd and that's the truth. Live with it! :-)

And for my money, Sarah Palin is more Reaganesque than Reagan.

Why are you dissing Duncan Hunter? He is a super fine individual and conservative. It was the country’s loss that he was ignored last election. It wasn’t Duncan’s or us 1%ers’ fault that the other 99% behaved in a moronic fashion.

Thank you both for the specifics you provided to me. I appreciate it. When I got off at 6:00am today, that's the start of what passes for my "weekend." I go back by 9:45pm Wednesday. I'll use some of this precious time to follow all the links people gave me and try to bone up on the former governor's policy positions.

Well you might start with looking up her speech in Asia last September in which she covered a range of topics, from terrorism, to economic policy, to trade with China. Then there is her recent article on Monetary policy, or her recent article on why she supports Paul Ryan’s roadmap. She has written and given speeches on a wide range of issues, but read what she has said first hand, not what the liberal media says about it.

I'm searching for the substance of the former governor, so will do my best to follow all the suggestions made here. Time is so danged limited for me, though. First time in my life I've ever worked graveyard shift. It's split, too. 10:00pm to midnight one day into midnight to 6:00am the following day. We're supposed to be at the job site at least 15 minutes early for shift change hand off, and there's travel time to consider. Plus they make you work a 12-hour shift every other Saturday. Part of Mondays and Wednesdays, along with all of Tuesdays is what constitutes my "weekend." No holidays off. Not complaining, because I'm glad to have any job in this economy. But I am explaining.
