Unusually cold weather last winter killed Florida's endangered manatees at a record rate, a report said on Friday.
During 2010, a record 699 manatees have died in Florida, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Research Institute.
Of those, 244 were attributed to cold weather and many of the 271 undetermined deaths were also likely caused by weather. In most years, the leading cause of manatee deaths is from collisions with power boats

Yawn, useless sacks of blubber!
Park SUV’s
And idle em neAr the shore
This is obviously Bush’s fault due to the way it disproportionately kills endangered species.
Wait for it, wait for it, BP did this! /sarc
Steaks and burgers, good eats!
I guess in the Northwest Territories the Mounties use them as home plate in cricket matches.
When God wants you dead, he makes you dead. Obviously the manatee is supposed to go extinct and nothing humans can do to stop it. God’s will be done.
Wow, we need to get Al Gore to make a movie or something to expose the awfulness of this situation. He could call it something like “An Inconvenient Cooling”. It would show Manatees in Florida pitifully laying on top of floating ice chunks, etc.
“Unusually cold weather killing Florida’s manatees”
Al gore is dead?
Man Made Global Warming is dead!
There is an upside - those 25 ft killer pythons from the Amazon that are breading like rats through southern Florida and starting to spread - can’t take the cold either.
The cold would be a blessing in that instance. They are becoming a very real danger and it’s near impossible to hunt them to extinction.
So .. heat seeking manatees, after visiting Floriduh, no longer saught heat when the heat went away?
Clearly, this article is a fabrication. Everyone knows that, thanks to global warming, the poor things boiled to death!
that’s what I was thinking. ya’ll stay warm.
